I bought the TC-BL based on all the recommendations- a word of advice to the new. It needs a pressure line with M connector and another adapter to attach to the shredder valve !

A lot of options out there and I think a bunch of us are running this:

can the tc/bl run air tools? it could run a blower for sure, right?

that would be a plus for me.
The TC-BL could run small air tools such as a stapler or finish nailer without an air tank but if you want to run larger air tools you should get a compressor with a reserve air tank (which is not desirable in a tire inflator since the tire is the air tank)!

I would probably want to use a tank even for the smaller tools just to reduce the amount of cycling and maintain a more consistent pressure through bursts of usage.

Didn’t want to make a separate thread to answer my question- sounds dumb, but my TC-BL after all the tidbits are attached to the stems and set pressure to 55. The inflator read the pressure at 50 psi, but refuses to inflate! What am I missing? Thanks

Set the TC-BL to like 65-70 (15-20 PSI over the target PSI). Some 4-way systems have a black valve (in addition to the slide valve used to set inflation/deflation) that you have to open. Check that. While the compressor is running, I use the hose pressure indicator to monitor the pressure. I turn it off once it over-inflates by 2-3 PSI (it varies, maybe test it to dial it in). The same black valve if you have it is used to shut off the flow which also shuts off the compressor, or you can press the compressor's off button. I use the black valve the majority of the time since it's right there.

Thanks, will try that

See post #65 on page 5. Your slide valve on the 4 way hose is probably in the wrong position. Let us know if that doesn’t solve it. 👍 I’m in the South Bay this week and will be out near Ohlone tomorrow night if you want/need to meet.

Thanks to all, solved the inflation start problem. Wish it simply had a mechanical on/off with auto shutoff at the desired max PSI specified.

Glad you got it figured out. On that TC-BL, your top display number is your set/desired PSI and the unit will auto stop once it’s reached.

There's an issue with the TC-BL regarding that. Say your tires are at 45PSI and you set the TC-BL to 50PSI, it will not start. You have to set it 15-20PSI over the target PSI. The TC-BL is really meant to drive air tools. It does not have a reserve tank, and if the PSI is already decently high enough, it thinks the air tool is idle and can start when the user triggers the air flow at that PSI, so it will not start.

And it has 5 PSI increments only, if you want anything in between, you need to air down manually.

Interesting. I’ve never noticed that so I’ll go out and check later today. If that’s the case, once it starts all you should have to do, is then manually adjust it back down to the desired PSI. I’ll report back after I test it.

Most 4 way hoses have their own pressure gauge, so you should be able to take the readings off it, as that’s what I do with the MORRFlate. The 4 hose gauge reads in tenths and gives you the current tire pressure while inflating. Also, if you over inflate, you should be able to adjust the slide on the 4-way to deflate to your desired psi. Hope that helps. 👍

As I don’t plan to use it too frequently ( rare off-roading), I made a 2 tire inflator with a Y connection at the inflator end. So there’s no secondary gauge. Not a big deal, I have a tire deflator device which I use to get the correct number if I overshoot with inflator.
