Same. I always get weird looks. One person said, "I thought I'd never see this". Some attendants still ask if I need gas.

People look at me funny when I pull up and start filling a few gas cans for the toys and tools. One woman even took out her phone to record so I'm sure I'm on some CT hate forum out there for my actions with a caption like "Does he know what he's even doing?!?!?".

I frequently do this to use the windshield squeegee, and empty trash. People need to mind their own business.

More often than not I've got a 60 gallon diesel transfer tank in the back of my CT for filling equipment on the farm or out at project sites. There's been a number of comments from from people while I'm filling from the pump. I assumed there would be a lot more rude comments, but most people have just been genuinely curious.

I have pulled up to a pump exactly once to fill up a generator. never thought it would happen.
