Two of the rubber pinchers are inverted. Happened a long time ago but still annoys me. Tugging on the rubbery bits nets no results. I need to get behind them somehow. I tried a solid tug on the whole plastic assembly, but it didn't pop out and I'm afraid to tug any harder not knowing for sure how it's assembled.

Good luck!
If you can't get them to pop out or clips break, it's $10 for a new one
I am often pleasantly surprised at how reasonably Tesla prices their parts! Armed with the knowledge that it's only a 10 dollar part, and knowing that if there's 6 clips I'll certainly break 4, I decided to take a different approach. First I tried @UberNoob suggestion to use a vacuum, but that failed. I ended up just puncturing the rubber with a small 90 degree pick and pulling them back into shape. It's fine.

THANKS

The cup holders on this truck are a stupid design anyway... I love everything about my truck - except this. That is a prime example of form over function.

I had to pop out mine because I had to clean it, and the rear clips broken off. If you use a pry tool, pull it straight up. If they break off, UV glue works really well. Better than crazy glue. Yes the part is cheap to order, but Tesla charges $200 for shipping anything.

Pull it straight up. You can use a rubber band around the center of the pinchers to keep it from happening in the future. I haven't found the right rubber band yet and I tell my passengers to please do not it again.

You can also have parts delivered to your service center for free, if it's local to you.

I think they work great. Might just depend on what type of container you use the most.
