I do have mine & I love it! Happy to connect so you can take a look. Message me directly and we can figure something out.
I'm also a Vegas guy! Have you joined the Las Vegas Tesla Owners Club Facebook group? I helped establish it years ago, but I don't Facebook anymore so I haven't kept up. I would love a chance to look at your truck. I'm awaiting VIN assignment and getting cold feet. Seeing one in person might help. This will be my 5th Tesla (2014 S, 2016 X, 2017 S, 2023 X)

Nice! I will keep an eye out for something similar for the CT. How long has/did yours last? The video makes it sound like it is only good for a few months, at best.
That's the 1st I've heard that the AO Hydrophobic Cover is temporary. Mine has been working very well for 2+ years. Maybe it's bc I use HS Silica Soap twice a year or so, and once at the end of summer/beginning of Fall, I also quickly reapply HS Marine ceramic spray to the entire exterior - so, the hydrophobic properties of the glass cover get replenished. I'm speculating, but it seems plausible.

You should see the Cybertruck IRL for sure and I am happy to set something up. Feel free to message me directly on that. As far as the Facebook group, I'm in a similar situation; I don't have an account.

Does that support location-based opening like previous Teslas? (i.e. automatically open when you pull into your driveway). Not thrilled about having another app running on my phone, though.
My ISMARTGATE doesn't, but maybe new ones do. I trust that's a feature that can be turned off. I don't open a bay door if I just came home for a quick bite and go. I prefer to use the Entry door instead. Foot traffic is much less messy than 4 dirty tires...

issue there is, my gate nor my garage doors are in range of wifi, so it isn't possible to use a device other than a normal garage door opener. even if I could extend my network enough for the garage doors, I can't extend far enough for the gate.
It sounds like you need WiFi range extenders, but I suspect you've probably tried that... ya made me happy with my not-so-dinky 140' driveway, so at least, there's that! Good luck with your solution - a buddy of mine sucked it up and rented a small excavator and then laid in conduits with Cat6 ethernet cable and electric power. It was @1/10 mile, but he's glad he did it for cameras as well as powered gate openers, lighting, etc.

I mean, the point isn't really "how can I work around this shortcoming". The point is, it shouldn't be a shortcoming. garage door openers in cars are not new, I can go buy a homelink module for my model y (and, I have). Should be no different for cybertruck. Put my use case aside, many people have community access garage doors and gates for apartment complexes and gated communities and such. They can't just modify how that gate works. Expecting parity with the function of model 3/y isn't really asking much.

Have you ever done a lock for the external cable to prevent someone from removing the cable when you use a J1772 adaptor? My daughter has several eng. she works with who love 3d printing I've been telling her for a long time they need to make one of those and share.
I have not tried that. Never really thought of that as a problem. Next time I use it, I will pay a little more attention to the design and think about it.

The limitation on Homelink and the cybertruck could be physics. The homelink transmitter is installed in the frunk in my Model Y, but in the cybertruck, I would guess the HFS blocks the RF frequencies necessary for Homelink to function.

those who really need homelink can purchase one of the many aftermarket homelink-integrated rear view mirror options.

Ok you asked for it. ? Two questions. .

-how is the leg room and head room in the back seat? Even with front seats all the way back. I am 6”3’ and am wondering if my head would hit the ceiling.

-where did you put your groceries? Frunk, cabin or bed?
I am 6'6 and my head does not touch the glass roof. With the sun shade in it touches my hair. Leg room is pretty good. With the driver's seat all the way back have to spread my legs slightly.

I pushed it all the way back and leaned all the way back and tried to take a nap...I think I can get a decent sleep. I am thinking about setting up a sleep profile. I am 5'8".

I used frunk and the "cooler" storage area for groceries. How I parked the car dictated this.
