Where’s our extended warranties??

Extended warranty on the Y, 3, X, etc made sense because it was a money maker for Tesla.
The Cybertruck will
A. Have a very expensive extended warranty
B. Not have one offered

Simply because it is a lot more expensive to repair, has a lot more failure points (air suspension, tonneau cover, etc etc) and things like the PCS are just a matter of time/miles.

It is a bummer because the other vehicles in the Tesla lineup really had a strong advantage via the long term ownership cost, to early to be certain but based on what we know so far the CT will be far more expensive to maintain and keep on the road long term. So unlikely an extended warranty will be offered.

X Is expensive to repair. Falcon wing doors, half shafts were bigger more expensive problems. X also has air suspension. The cyber truck will most likely get offered a warranty in my opinion.

73k miles here and had the pcs issue, yes I got a bill 6k+ however Tesla refunded me 95% of it, also said he had meetings with the big dogs and found issues with the billing system and they are making changes across the board. My invoice was changed to good will. Which saved me about 5200$

THIS is my problem with Tesla: PCS repair cost from those reported on this forum out-of-pocket have been north of $5,000. Someone on the forum has reported Tesla states PCS repair will be $1,000.

Tesla, lacks consistent messaging - other than they are inconsistent. When owners have to deal with the local Tesla service level - which had a reported wider range of responses to issues. Such as the bed Vault leak.

I like my CT, not so sure about the company. They have do not have consistent 'at customer service level messaging'..

I had my PCS fail about 2 month ago - [before the shortage] however, upon picking up my CT from that repair. It was absolutely comically filthy. AND service turned on the windshield wiper - to just let me know: "We don't care, we don't have to" [No I did not engage FSD]

To me at seems like Tesla

you know, everybody says that but we had an x from 2016 to 2024 and from 2024 to now and other than a couple adjustments because the falconwing sensors can get wonky in the height of the Arizona summer heat, those doors have been flawless and dead reliable.
as for the suspension, also not an issue and the half shaft thing is totally fine too IF you’re willing to accept that camber and chew through tires fairly frequently. This is something that costs you, not Tesla though.
The X didn’t have anything as glaring and large scale as the PCS issue I can think of.

my plaid was about perfect but half shafts are very common in the x community. It's not a cheap repair either.

Tesla will get the PCS figured out and I'm willing to bet we will be offered an extended warranty. Warranties are nothing but math and they like subscription money for sure.

The half shafts were never really that big of a deal anyway. If you kept it set to always low or restrained yourself before it lowered itself they wouldn't develop the tick. Even if they did it was a cosmetic/sound issue, not a functional one and the part was in no danger of actually failing. I had them replaced once early on on my 2016 P100DL once they released the TSB that adjusted the mount. Set to always low, it never came back before I swapped to the CT in 2024.

nope. Many people had 2-3 replacements. $3k for replacement if I remember right.
