February 22nd order. I was pretty excited when I got the message but now that I see 2/28 order is also getting the message, it's probably blanket message and I won't be getting mine anytime soon. I wanted/want to get it in June

If you order a M3/Y right now, you will have those instructions, even if it's months out. They are basically telling people that it's in production.

I went to the Tesla app and it asked me to complete the Delivery Tasks. I got through the first two (basically ID) and options. Got to Step 3 (Trad in) and said to check back later when a VIN has been assigned. Not sure what all this means...?

Why would a model 3 or y be months out? They are bursting at the seams with inventory

I waited a month and a half for my M3P. The delivery checklist opened the day I put my $250 down. That's typically how it works with Tesla.

My point was that the delivery check list does not mean it's imminent, but it does mean that the process is live and now it's working like all other vehicles meaning people will be getting them as they arrive.

Once you get assigned a VIN you will be able to complete tasks 3 through 9. Until then just sit tight.

My guess nothing really has changed, right? Originally had a Sept/Oct delivery date when I ordered - Feb 25th, and as of earlier this week, the dreaded "2027" date, or is this indicative of an earlier delivery?

This is not indication of early delivery until you are being assigned a VIN.
