Also have a day 1 reservation for the R2. Looks attractive, and I want to like it as the new hotness, but Rivian ADAS is so far behind. It will take some years for Rivian to catch up to were Tesla is now. As one who remembers the early years of FSD driving like a bad student driver, I don't want to deal with that for any significant length of time. I'm probably letting the R2 go.

Incidentally, I have a Slate day 1 reservation as well, but I think the 2-door-only, RWD-only is just going to be too limiting for our household.

The talking heads like to think that Rivian is "right behind Tesla FSD."
At best, the Rivian is 7 years behind Tesla (based on the videos I have seen). People that have never had to actually use a LIDAR claim that LIDAR is the secrete sauce to accelerating Rivian's path to FSD but Waymo took between 10 and 6 years to get to FSD level using LIDAR.

I’m usually not one to spend so much money on floor mats, but 3W mats are definitely worth it. Made sure to pull those from my ‘24 and installed them on my ‘26 as soon as I got home.

Now if @3Wliners Carmats would make ‘26 compatible bed liners…

Why not schedule yourself a demo drive and experiences it in person. Make sure you ask for 48 hrs.

Definitely will do if I can, I just suspect the first opportunity to drive it may be when my order gets fulfilled! Test drives around here at least to date have just been for the PAWD which I think has fantastic road noise isolation and ride quality, so it would be nice to hear a few people say they are nearly at that level with the AWD trim.

Speaking about ride quality, I was on the sumo spring site looking at their coil inserts. Anyone have thoughts on that product for the SAWD? Seems like would be a nice add on.

Update for the speeadsheet: pre-delivery tasks opened for me on 6/5 up to the trade in portion. Delivery still shows 2027 according to the chatbot. Also, chatbot says FSD transfer is not available

Just got word back from My local CS. Good for delivery when I return from my trip 6/12.

“Wanted to give you an update that we were able to get the containment that we spoke about clear and the truck is good to be released! We'll keep the Friday home delivery unless anything changes. I really appreciate your patience on this.”
