Is this true and real that Tesla will officially fix the leak issue? Who has gotten this done officially besides this person?

From TorqueNews

Saw this:

After years of complaints from Cybertruck owners, Tesla is finally implementing a fix for the tonneau cover water leak issue. The EV maker is applying foam sealant to some Cybertrucks to prevent water from entering the vault...

....
Repair Notes:

The technician inspected the vehicle and verified excessive water entering the truck bed, with the tonneau cover not operating as expected.

The cause was inadequate sealing on the upper tonneau applique. The technician applied sealing foam to the applique and tested to confirm that water ingress had been resolved. The repair was validated with no further leaks detected.

Correction: Test To Confirm Water Ingress No Longer Present

Correction Diagnosis: Water Ingress/Leak - Interior

Correction Applique - Upper - Tonneau (Long Range) - Remove and Install.ā€

Given that many Cybertruck owners are facing tonneau water ingress issues, it’s good to see Tesla addressing the problem by simply applying a foam sealant to the upper tonneau applique.

What is even better is that we can see on the service note that Tesla performed this repair for free under the basic vehicle warranty.

Additionally, the service note also shows the minimum work and parts needed to stop the water leak.

Tesla service writes…

ā€œParts Replaced or Added

Part

SEALING FOAM(1098720-00-B)

Quantity

2.00ā€

This is wonderful news; however, looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners continue to voice their frustration with Tesla.

Depends on your service center, I took my truck to a service center 3x and zero change, took it to a different one and it was fixed first time.

They just did the foam to mine last week.

last year they did the extra slat and it didn’t work, but the foam has finally done it. I don’t even get drops in it anymore

You tried a carwash yet? have heard the foam helps with light rain but carwash still gets it wet

I foam cannon and hand wash all my vehicles so I can’t attest to the automatics.

But I did some testing with garden hose and my pressure washer and not even a drop got through that appliquƩ, where prior, it would constantly drip into bed over the rear window there. It worked

Got mine done a few months ago. Had a 2024 model I took in there 3 times to address it and they said no. I gave up. Within spec. Never advertised as waterproof etc.

Took my 2025 in and just casually asked about it. One tech heard me and said wait, there's a new bulletin for that now. I'll take a look.

Addressed big difference. It still leaks but at high speeds while raining. I don't think I can avoid that but parked it seems waterproof.

Thanks for sharing. I have a FS AWD 13xxx and had the tonneau slat added. Still got some water intrusion. Was told essentially the same thingā€¦ā€˜not water proof’.

My CT is on Day 2 at the SC to fix connectivity and frunk issues. I just messaged them to see if they can add this concern and possible fix while my CT is there.

Good luck. It's not coming from the slats/tonneau. It's the plastic trim piece from the glass roof to the plastic piece that's leaking.
