Mine also has the exposed holes letting water right into the bed. It looks unfinished like a piece is supposed to be connected by snapping into the holes. I just submitted a service ticket for over 1.5 months out. I’ll let you know what they say.

I just noticed on the new cyber trucks. They have redesigned the cover gaps. Also, the rubber gaskets attached to the window and back of the truck were fully redesigned with hard rubber. if your truck has a soft rubber insulation attached to the glass, they will replace that with a hard rubber that's part of the glass. Be aware that this will cause a visual gab that will show unpainted portion of your back of your cabin.

by the way. The service center has an update notice to replace the foam insulation in the panel between the glass and cover with a rubber one. This is a serviceable item now.
Good to know. Is there a way to see the update notice, or a reference number? I'd like to check with my service center and see what they say. They replaced my tonneau once, but it didn't change anything.

it was a internal email. I don't think we have public access to it.

Just came on to report just how amazingly well this leak fix works. My vault was leaking like crazy and does have the exposed top perforated panel which I thought was the problem originally. That was until I noticed the water was coming down the back window glass. After replacing the foam as shown in the video my vault is absolutely bone dry. Couldn’t be happier with the results! Thanks to original poster/video publisher. If you’re having water issues along the front of the vault this is the absolute best fix!!! See before and after.

P.S. I’m glad this is a serviceable item now. Wish I had checked here before my Lowe’s trip this morning. It was disheartening knowing that when I had the truck serviced to fix this issue they said it was in spec when a $10 hardware store trip solved it 100%

I guess $100K doesnt buy what it used to.
Most pickup trucks don’t come with a tonneau cover. It was about a $15 fix and an hour of my time for an essentially waterproof bed…. Good to go

Meh, it’s wayyyy to small of a weatherstrip to help, did nothing. Had to fix it myself, only $15 and an hour of my time, no more leaks. Easy fix, just need a T30 screwdriver to remove the two bolts holding the cover in place, weatherstrip, and some black RTV.

Most of the original pictures are gone, anyone have any updated pics, or vids? Would like to try this weekend to repair myself. Also Any chance you have links to items you purchased?

From Amzn-
Weatherstrip, this is the same one another guy used and did a video about, he cut the center of it out, I didn’t do that. I installed it as is-

Silicone sealant, for corners/gaps-
Permatex 81158 Black Silicone... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000AL6WLA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Use a T-30 torx head to remove the two screws below the aerocover. First place a towel below them, because if you drop them they are going to disappear into the abyss forever.

Once the two screws are out, firm upward pressure removes the piece. I then used a wooden tongue depressor, but a plastic spatula / vehicle trim tool would work well too, to scrape the stock rubber seal off. Don’t worry about getting it too clean, larger weatherstrip you will place seals by pressure between the vehicle and aerocover. The weatherstrip won’t fully fit in place as it is slightly too big, but this helps it seal well, I used the tongue depressor to push it as far back as it could go.

I also used the weatherstrip on the sides of the cover and silicone to fill remaining gaps. Looks fine, talll truck so can’t see the silicone unless you are in the bed. Now if the aerocover has to be removed again it will break the silicone seals, but who cares it’s five bucks. If you don’t want to use some sort of sealant, put a flashlight in the areas where there are gaps and you’ll see just how much light and water can come in, it’s necessary.
Oh, don’t forget to wear disposable gloves and have paper towels nearby for the silicone part.

Update- Bone dry with rain or hose water. Have been through a touch free high pressure wash three times since the fix, bed is dry! On the resr window there’s a tiny sprits of water after the high pressure wash, watched it happen with the bed lights on while in the wash, looks like someone sprayed windex with a single pump of the sprayer on the window once, that’s it, not enough to even drip down. Good enough for me. I bet I could fix that with a bead of silicone along the entire weatherstrip, but not worth it to me.
