Hey Forum Friends!

My rearview camera has been disabling, more like the feed on center screen is disappearing. Happens abruptly during drive. Has occurred over the past month or two handful times.

It resets fairly easily, requires me to out the vehicle in park. Thought it was an issue with the tonneau, but has happened a couple times with tonneau closed.

Have done all resets.

FSD is unhindered, truck just continues on merry way, so appears as a bug?

As mentioned, putting vehicle in park resets, can be done at red light abruptly. Have to stop though, which would be annoying if on freeway etc.

I’ve gone through all the options while driving, not sure if there is a toggle responsible for this.

Anyone have any ideas before I clog the SC queue, anyone experience this issue?

Does it come up when driving with the camera button on the steering wheel, if so you probably have the rearview camera setting set to auto, instead of "on".

Hit the camera button on the squirkle, if it shows it there you have the rearview set to auto off

If it is NOT there you have closed the tailgate to hard and jarred the connection, which is super fragile per service tech.

I have not tried the button on the steering wheel, I’ve selected the camera menu via screen though and it does not correct. Problem is it is happening randomly while driving. My rear camera was set to auto, though I have tried switching it to “on” which does not correct the issue. I’ll try keeping it on “on”.

Thank you
It also defaults to off if you have the vault open
Have gone down this rabbit hole, happened today driving to work though, tonneau closed whole time.

Lost camera feed mid-drive to work, never touched tailgate.

Will try keeping rearview camera set to “on”, perhaps that will do the trick.
Weird it’s happened 5-6times in 4 weeks, have had truck for almost 2 years.

Just happened to me a week ago. Came back the next day when I went for a drive. I assumed it was a glitch from the last software update. I’ll see if it does it again with the latest update.

Maybe I need to find out where to put a gob of goop to glue the connector in place.

Came here to see if anyone else had rear view camera issues since the ASS update. Problems I have are as follows:

- In Amazon music app, the rear view camera no longer moves to allow you to make selections on the top of the screen, including touching the search bar.
- You can click an X on the top right corner of the rear view camera video and it disappears, now you can use the Amazon Music app.
- ...but then the rear view camera feed disappears and doesn't come back. Nothing seems to turn the camera feed back on, until you park and then turn the truck off and on.

I've owned my CT for two years and never had an issue with the rear view mirror obstructing an app or disappearing until now. This is certainly a bug in the current software.

I was under the impression that’s what “auto” meant. On for “always on”, off for “always off” and auto for “on only when the vault is closed.”

Got the exact same issue after update.

It probably does, and I probably need to toggle it now that I have the vault open due to enclosed bed cap.

Just to confirm, my vault has been closed this whole time, so that isn't part of my camera issue.
I don't think anyone is suggesting you didn't notice your fly was open lol, BUT perhaps a faulty sensor may fool the computer into thinking vault is open when it is not.

The visualization on-screen and in the app will show the perceived state of the vault cover.

I'd agree this is likely not the issue.

My camera would blink off for a frame or two and disconnect FSD.
FSD seems to have some notes about camera feed reliability and you are proof of that.

My solution with service was to unplug it and plug it back in. No problems since then.
