Unfortunately, the bed platform sits on top of the tent base, so it would probably be easier to modify the base of that 4-person tent instead.

So if I buy your tent, would I be able to use the base platform and gas struts separate from the rest of the tent and then just mount my own tent on to the top of the rack and cut out the bottom fabric?

Our tent base and bed platform sits on top of the side rails and crossbars, so mounting a 4-person tent on top of it without using those crossbars would be tricky. The more practical route might be modifying the base of the 4-person tent itself

Sorry I'm not understanding why we can't use your base platform and gas struts separately from the rest of the tent, but when you say crossbars, are you referring to the crossbars that come with the molle rack as well? Why would the floor and gas struts shown in that x video not be able to mount to the molle rack?

The floor and gas struts shouldn’t be an issue, but once the floor closes over the crossbars, I’m not really sure how you’d mount your 4 person tent since the crossbars would end up underneath the floor. Maybe I’m missing something, but that’s the challenge I can think of.

Actually, you can sleep two or even three kids in the bed and still keep the rear table open to access the bed, as long as you're under 6 feet tall. We designed this tent to be so slim that, from a distance, you probably won't even notice there's a tent on the truck.

It can be mounted to the molle rack, and you can also add a rear window. In the future, we may offer replacement glass side panels or full aluminum side doors that can be swapped out using the existing hinges!

What are the chances looking like that the new tent will be available this summer?

We're shooting for mid to late July for the first big batch, so the timing is looking solid for summer
