So if I buy your tent, would I be able to use the base platform and gas struts separate from the rest of the tent and then just mount my own tent on to the top of the rack and cut out the bottom fabric?Unfortunately, the bed platform sits on top of the tent base, so it would probably be easier to modify the base of that 4-person tent instead.
Our tent base and bed platform sits on top of the side rails and crossbars, so mounting a 4-person tent on top of it without using those crossbars would be tricky. The more practical route might be modifying the base of the 4-person tent itself

The floor and gas struts shouldn’t be an issue, but once the floor closes over the crossbars, I’m not really sure how you’d mount your 4 person tent since the crossbars would end up underneath the floor.
