If it makes you guys feel any better, someone cancelled their order and it got assigned to me. VIN is a 948xx, so I'm guessing it was part of the containment trucks. So hopefully they're starting to move. I pick it up on Saturday. I can report back if anything seems off or weird since it came from that batch most likely.
Which city ?

In typical Tesla fashion, I received a call today informing me that my vehicle will be ready for pickup tomorrow. Guess they had q2 delivery tunnel vision. Not sure how we got here but I’m cautiously optimistic!

Alright 2nd update, now 200 miles in.

The good: The vehicle overall is amazing. Nothing weird happening at all. Expectations of an 80k vehicle have been met. Smoothness, driving noise, comfortability, and overall engineering of everything has blown me away so far. Nothing feels cheap or half assed. Overall, mechanically, the vehicle has basically worked flawlessly. It rained pretty heavy the other day and no water in the bed, which I was pumped about.

The bad: Just to start this, I'm a first time tesla owner. I have no prior experience with FSD, so I'm sure this is night and day difference compared to what it once was... but idk how tf anyone is driving 700+ miles with FSD consecutively with no issues. I can barely make it 5 city miles without having to take over (yes, I have the newest software). I mean I guess I could let it do it's thing and make me look like a complete idiot driving, but I refuse to do that.

Problems so far with FSD...

Using bypass lanes as a turning lane then going back into the normal lane just to turn again. Which is whatever, but it needs to learn from it's mistakes. It does it OVER AND OVER in the same spot every day.

Parking lots are a nightmare. I dropped my kids off at summer activities and it drove in circles around the parking lot and had no idea how to get out.

Missed my in-laws driveway multiple times from multiple directions..

Will not avoid any type of debris in the road. Sticks, debris, metal chunk on the road, it's not moving out of the way.

Going slow in the fast lane. Couple guys have rode my ass in the left lane on Hurry mode and I've had to manually get over.

Construction is hit and miss. Sometimes it surprises tf out of me, other times my 8 year old would have a 2000% better chance of figuring out what's going on. Example: they set up a 3 way stop intersection while they're building a round-about, it didn't turn right like it was supposed to. Decided to put it's blinker on to turn around in the neighborhood next to the turn it missed, which was correct, then decided to skip the turn and just continue straight. Pissed me off at that point.

I'm not expecting perfection by any means, but these videos and posts of 99% FSD are kind of comical from my POV from only 200 miles. These guys are definitely refusing to grab the wheel when shit goes wrong or just spending literally all their time on freeways and don't care if ppl go slow in the fast lane.

The good news is the hardware and overall quality of the truck is out of this world. Software has a long way to go in my opinion from a non hardcore tesla pov.

Oh... and my first time charging at a supercharger was weird. I pull up, start charging, everything is good. 10 mins later it says unable to charge. Spent 20 mins plugging it in and unplugging with nothing working. Guy next to me says the app says my bay is out of order. Which it didn't say before I pulled up for sure (as it started charging right away).

Went to a different bay and started charging with no issues. Idk what that was about.

Only two days of driving my new $59k SAWD and the Cybertruck has exceeded my expectations.

2.5+ years of manufacturing a brand new platform and constant tweaking/improving have payed big dividend’s. My VIN is library quiet inside and has zero rattles, squeaks, motor noises, wind noise, etc. The exterior fit and finish was excellent as well.

This is what I'm most pleased about. Have read about all of the above not being great in past years in some cases... and this is exactly why I did not want to buy used. My truck is quiet as as mouse right now and the fit and finish is almost perfect as well.

Super happy for you guys 👏👏

Anyone know if Cybertrucks shipped to the Tesla Fremont area go via train vs truck?

I look forward to a coffin quiet ride. Squeaks and rattles break my brain...

I think a lot of peoples' differences in experiences with FSD is a combination of location and expectations. It's really good in Florida, but that's where the 3rd most Tesla are, so tons of training data. Minnesota, probably not so much. Also, the Cybertruck is a much smaller sample size than the other models, so that might have some influence as well. Is it perfect? Not yet. Have I intervened due to safety (vs. inconvenience/preference)? Not in a LOOOOONNNGGG time (i.e. 6 months+). We forget, but it really is crazy that a vehicle can drive itself! And it WILL get better at the little things, especially navigation!!

Trying not to count the number of people who ordered a month after me and are taking delivery
