How long is the bed section with the passthrough open? Long enough for a lost horizon or Tesla matress? I ask this because I have both mattresses and I know for sure my wife and I can comfortably sleep on that size surface. It’s what we use in the cybertent.
For me it would mean being able to keep the tent open while my young kids sleep below. This is largely the motivation for all of this. Right now they sleep on a back seat mattress in the cabin with one’s head at the passenger side and the other the drivers side, but I’m fairly certain they are going to outgrow that at some point. At least side by side. Eventually one or both will need to sleep somewhere else. My wife and I sleep with the toddler in the cybertent but that is also not a long term solution.
Of course, perhaps smarter would be to put the kids on top where the shorter section is. Where do you think would be best if after they go to bed we still want to easily get in and out of the truck without waking them? Top or bottom level?

Here’s a pic of the Exped Long Wide Plus Duo, which is 77.6 x 52, so it sticks out a little since the front section is 75”. But the Tesla mattress would fit much better since it’s 49.9” wide and 72” long, so it should be a perfect fit. We’re thinking of adding a ladder mount on the outside so you can still get out from the side during the night, or three kids can sleep on top while you two sleep on the bottom?
