I reserved my truck right after it was announced years ago. Every deposit anniversary, I celebrated, eagerly awaiting the day I could configure it. In early February, that day finally arrived, and I was beyond ecstatic as most of us were. As weeks passed after confirming my configuration, I remained patient, understanding that this was a new platform with inevitable hiccups. However, my excitement dwindled as I learned more about build quality issues and production delays. This morning, I called Tesla to cancel my order altogether, as my delivery appointment in Seattle came-and-went, but they said they would rather put it on hold instead. Look, I don't judge those who bought-in early, AND I thought I was going to be one of those early adopters. I had the money saved and room in my garage for the new edition, but something just told me to wait. I know a lot of us are in the same boat, between getting the VIN and awaiting delivery. I absolutely love the design but I'm going to wait until later this year after the kinks are worked out with manufacturing.

If there's one takeaway from Cybertruck, it's that other auto manufactures must learn how to innovate better and listen to their customers. Hats-off to Tesla for bringing this truck to market, I'll sit on the sidelines and jump in when I'm ready.

Sound reasoning. This is one reason I opted for the Beast - it will give them a year to sort out some of the early issues before my number comes up. Also, the hype will hopefully have died down a bit and it will just be another Tesla by then.

I have heard this same story on every Tesla we own. I am going to wait till it is just right. Cool thanks for letting us know.

Till then I keep enjoying them while others wait for a goldilocks moment.

The only time to buy a Tesla, is now.

I purchased a new Model 3 - glorified golfcart - as a second car as the kid hauler. Other than the occasional snacks spilled in the back seat, I'm enjoying zero issues in the most morning car possible. I guess the CT is just too exciting with all of its issues, but that's probably just me living life in the slow lane ;)

Yep wait, you can get a used M3 for $20k with the $4k tax credit, or a MY for $30k, the CT will always be there. BLUF: these two vehicles were $60k to $80k when demand was high, so prices do drop in time. LOL!

I guess I understand the myopic view, but did you not see the 500k Fords with recalls the same day at the CT "deadly" accelerator pedal? Nothings perfect, and will ever be. I got the first MSLR refresh delivered in Ohio. Few mobile service calls, nothing that those great techs can't solve. My buddy had his Rivian a week and had to have a panel repaired. I will say, Germans don't have these issues, but then you have a German interior with 80 redundant knobs.

Our 2020 Model Y was one of the first 16,000 built. No issues and it's still great! Sure, Tesla updates all the time, but that just means you'll be waiting forever.

I humbly suggest you go to another car's forum and read their posts. You'll quickly figure out that there are always some problems...even after years in production.

Most people who are happy and have no issues are never heard from on a forum!

I won't sell my old house to buy it, but the CT is going to be iconic. Just needs a Fast & Furious movie! Haha. You know tech is good when an Owner says it's a glorified golf cart... Looking at mid 2025 for my invite! Which factors in all the No,'s... Uproarious! Now just gotta save the money!!

The car is just fine I touch wood but I had absolutely zero issues with my CT approaching 1000 miles. I’m sure this is the case for the very vast majority of owners. I recently spoke to an owner who had the car since early January and she only had one issue with the wiper which she had to have replaced because it was not spraying but other than that no problem.

I’ve had zero issues with mine. I love it.
For the love of god, please whatever else you do to that truck, do NOT but that awful cursive 'A' on it!
