I've heard you have to pay the $50,000 fine if you want to sell your Tesla Cybertruck. I'm trying to figure out if anything has changed (as they've change the contract in the past).

To those who have sold, did you have to pay the $50,000 fee and how did that go? Just trying to understand how much they enforce that.

The $50k is the minimum, the actual penalty is the 'consideration' aka the price the truck sold at.

I don’t see much movement on the ones listed on CarGuru. The listing prices are going down though with one CB listed at $156k.

There is a big chat on Reddit where one dude is claiming Tesla served him with a $2 million lawsuit after he sold his cyber truck

Assuming you ordered one or took delivery on one. Did you read the Sales Agreement? Its in there and nothing has changed.

Whether circumstances change or people ultimately don’t love it, I can see why some people who genuinely thought they wanted to own it do end up wanting to sell before 1 year.

I’d be lying if the thought didn’t cross my mind a couple times, primarily because it’s “excessive” for my daily needs in many ways. Then I jump in our R1S or Polestar 2 and feel how antiquated these otherwise great vehicles feel after being spoiled by drive by wire and rear wheel steering.

At the end of the day I don’t think I could bring myself to sell this car, whether after 2 months or 2 years.

The math doesn't even work out on that. Unless he sold it for like, two million... Or sold ten of them. Something.

Served lawsuits are public documents, so they wouldn't be prevented from sharing them on Reddit.

Because he didn't let them know he was selling it? Can you link it to me?

So you're saying if you bought it for the $102,000 price and then sold it for $165,000, they'd "sue" you for whatever is over the $102,000 price (in this case $63,000)? Or they'd sue you for $165,000 even though you paid $102,000 to get it in the first place?
