I tell them what I paid, which is 129K. I've gotten guesses at over 200K and others for 60k. No one seems to know what price this prototype-looking vehicle is worth. I get this question multiple times a day when I am out and about.

Personally, I do not think it is rude at all to ask. The more transparency we can have about money, with anyone, the better. Helps make it so envy is less of a thing.

My standard answer is they start at 60 grand depending on what options you get.

it seems to catch people offguard and calm their nerves.

Most responses are “oh wow that’s way more affordable than I thought”

Multiple times the first question asked by random people is how much did that cost? How do you guys respond to this. I’m trying to not come off as douchy or snoby. I’ve always driven old ass cars and this is a new world to me.

I’m still guessing Tesla’s cost is in the Millions per Truck at this point.
Probably years until they reach the scale where startup costs are overcome and they start making a profit.
