It is ok to put ceramic film on the front windshield of the Cybertruck?

I went to a tint shop to have this done and they refused to do it because they say it will damage the vehicle. When they use water during the application and squeegee it off there is no where for it to go, they said it would rundown and damage electronics and the battery. They said even when they use towels and absorbent rope it is not enough to catch all the water.

Anyone else heard this? Is this a concern because I know other shop in the area are doing it.?

The shop I chose here in VA had similar windshield concerns and would not touch the roof glass.

I just picked up the Cybertruck from the tint shop, they didn't say anything about that.
They didn't do the windshield as they said they didn't want to do it yet until all the off-gassing is done and to bring it back in a month and clean it several times.
They tried to get it clean for several hours and couldn't.

I had it done and no issue so far. For the front windshield, you need a shop that have experience with Cybertruck. It's not an easy task, and some shop won't do it right. But my truck was done after 2 months waiting for Tesla to sort out all of their "service ticket".

I had mine done a few days ago. I helped complete it. There was some water that ran down but I wasn't too worried about it personally. I love the heat rejection so far.

There have been some reported incidents of water intruding into the overhead gear selector during tint installation, leading to some strange side effects (like the hazards running 24/7 lol).

It's a challenge for sure, but not an insurmountable one...?!??

Mine was done using Xpel ceramic at 70%. Looks mostly clear. No issues. Some shops want to charge for extra wide roll, but it can be installed sideways with standard width and looks/works great.

This was a concern when Model 3 came out and I was super worried about it because of reading about it on the forums. The tiny shop wasn’t worried about it and has done 3 for me with no issue.

Well, to be fair, they are talking about runoff water inside over the dash and I don't think many (any) owners are gonna wash the inside of their trucks.

Sounds like you need a tint shop that actually knows how to tint.

Just my 2 cents.

There are plenty of places tinting every piece of glass on the CT/CB with no ill effects reported so I think the shop probably just doesn't want to deal with the large panes of glass because they don't know how to do it well and aren't confident in their own abilities so they are giving you BS reasons why they cannot do it.

A shop that really knows what it is doing will not refuse this work. The only exception is the front windshield in California is illegal to tint technically so some shops won't do any windshields as a policy but since most tint shops are already allowing the customers to tint other windows beyond state legal limits I always thought that was bogus also.

At any rate, find a shop that doesn't make excuses.

FWIW

Cheers
