I am convinced it was due to me washing off the truck. I must have blasted the switch for the tailgate. I am not sure why the frunk opened up...

Update.
Washed the truck several times and had rain more then a few times since the ghost issues and no problems. I am thinking that I hit the switches directly with the hose, at close range.
I am careful not to hit the tailgate/tonneau cover panel directly.
