Second time getting the CT off road. I can’t give Tesla enough credit for making it as nearly capable as the Raptor. If it were just a truck for on road duty that would have been a major fail.

My main lesson learned today as I mention in the video my 12 year old put together in less time it would have taken me, is this:

Baja Mode: you’ve got to toggle down from Clearance or Rough to Smooth in deep sand. I could have really gotten stuck in a good foot or more of sand had I not figured this one out quickly. Sure glad I did with two kids with me and no help or reception near by. ?

Luckily, I’m very familiar with this area, but super glad we made it out with no problems. My CT “The Celebrity” now has 509 miles on it after today. No mechanical issues or errors on the UI since I got it. Very grateful.

Can’t wait for the next adventure!

What did you deflate the tires to? I assume you have the standard AT tires.
Great job Cash on the editing!

Thanks, I’ll tell my boy ?

I actually didn’t air down at all. They are the same tires that Tesla delivered it with.

Looks like a great time! I’m taking mine out on Oriflame Canyon truck trail next weekend for a day Offroading. It’s a moderate trail, few obstacles good first run to test her out.

Same day, different locale. Some serious off-reading at Six Sigma Ranch.

Did you use wade mode at all or just went for it? Great pics!

I did use wade mode when crossing creeks on the way out, on the way back I don’t think it was fully engaged. Bottom line, the CT was very capable, and gave me new confidence.

What mode would you recommend for slow beach driving? I know there is an overland sand mode - not sure how that compares to Baja. Just want to not get stuck.

I have not used overland either. Comparing Baja on the CT to Baja on my Raptor was quite similar with regards to the suspension receptivity to terrain. The smooth setting in Baja was for sure the way to go in those dunes. I think id feel pretty confident on beach sand in that setting. Will have to check out Overland next time I’m out.

The white wrap looks perfect in the desert.
Kudos to your critters for the excellent video.
Perhaps better than any of the Tesla promotion clips!
