That's awesome! I'd take that all day. Can't wait for the range extender!

It really seems like aerodynamics and speed play a bigger role than weight.
Speedr I'm struggling with the extender idea - paid the deposit but not sure if I'm gonna pull the trigger given that my bedspace is gonna be truncated a bit.

I wouldn’t pull the trigger. Not for extending the towing that is. If we are all seeing around 40-60% range while towing 8-12k lbs then that means you are paying $16k for maybe 50-60 extra miles and losing 1/3 of bed capacity. Then the hassle of moving that heavy bastard out when needed. Not like rolling out a 300lb 10kw portable gen with 50a output for back up lol. Would need engine hoist or 3 strong beer buds to come help. Just my opinion fwiw…again if your buying for towing only.

We'll have to wait until we see the actual specs. It might end up being lighter/smaller than we think.

I'm hoping they increase the energy density of the cells in the range extender. Due to high cost of it, they can afford to use more costly cells for this specific, low volume application. If so, I hope it ends up getting us closer to 500 miles, and 250 towing...

I hope as well...if that is the case then I may opt in for it as well. I would love to figure out a way to squeeze a smaller custom one into the locker in the bed floor. Similar to what we can do with the small cavity in the new bronco to run overland fridges etc. Not as a range extender per-se but more like a backup battery pack to run other stuff or maybe squeeze out another 10miles or so for emergency to get out of the boondocks, etc.

If I'm out in the boonies and need a charge.. I might be tempted to just bring a portable generator.
