We had about a 45 minute power outage early this afternoon, and I'm happy to say that PowerShare kicked in within a few seconds and powered the house exactly as expected.

When PowerShare is active, the Cybertruck physical port lights up purple, and the UWC reverses the green lights upward. The app sends notifications when it kicks in and when power is restored. There was no loss of power when it shifted back to the grid, it was seamless.

I've attached a couple of clips of what it looks like when PowerShare takes over, it's an excellent feature and I'm glad it was part of the Foundation series package or I might not have ordered it on it's own.

Are you able to run an A/C with your set up?

That’s cool. When I ran a test, it wasn’t seamless switching back to the grid. It was a quick off and back on. But maybe that was because I was manually doing tripping it

UPDATE: we had a brief power outage today and PowerShare again wasn’t seamless switching back over to the grid. I understand if it’s not seamless when the grid goes off, but it would be nice if it was seamless coming back on.

Yes, you should be able to. In the video, his output is showing 7.5kw. That’s running a decent amount of stuff. I have had mine running both AC units, a few appliances, etc, and it was barely 7kw. Most of the time it was running at 3.5 or less without AC. The truck will output 11.5kw.

Both of my central AC units were running (it's 94°F outside today, 74° in the house), along with the washing machine and everything else that's usually on in the house on a Saturday. No issues at all.

So Tesla determined that I am already set up for Powershare but I dont see any options on the app or on my CT. I have the latest update , 2024.20.1 and I made sure all my powerwalls, gateway etc are updated. Can anyone point me to the requirements for Powershare or/and if I need to do something to activate it?
I didnt make it a priority since I hear Powershare wont come until later in the month and none of the updates for the CT detailed Powershare as an addition.

Wow, someone actually got this power share installed. I am confused as to what and when to use Powershare. I know it has only been two weeks since my CT Beast Delivery, but I have not been directly informed by Tesla about PowerShare equipment and Universal Wall Charger. I am leaning towards that the $4k installation is now no longer valid, and I will most likely get a $2.5k voucher.

After I had the hardware installed, the option for PowerShare wasn't showing up in my Charging settings in the Cybertruck, I had to call Tesla to get them to look into it. I was on 2024.14.7 at the time.

After about 24 hours and a few emails back and forth with Tesla support after my initial call, plus one hard reboot (using the dual scroll wheel method), it showed up and has been online for the last several weeks. This was the first time I got to see it kick in.

I'm on 2024.20.1 now, but it showed up in the prior release.

Looking for your Beast PowerShare?

https://www.tesla.com/support/powershare

Tesla is now using Qmerit (at least in the SF Bay Area) for installs.

They will be out on Monday to assess and quote mine.

We’ve got PowerShare fully installed (first in our State) and app working perfectly. Tested just fine.
Waiting on a real outage.

We prioritized key circuits of refrigerators, well pump, furnace air handlers and certain circuits for lights and such.

Trying to maximize duration of backup power as we’ve had 4 or 5 outages lasting 6 to 8 days in last 15 years here in Connecticut. We’ll see!

I guess this depends on how you look at it. If you want backup power, wait for the equipment. A Powerwall setup equivalent to the cybertruck battery would cost $83,700 before installation (9 powerwalls)

If you don’t want backup power, take the $2,500. and don’t spend $4k install. That’s like making yourself $6,500. There isn’t a wrong answer, just matters what you want in the long run.

My power went out about 10m ago and the PowerShare kicked in. My wife was making cookies. I like cookies! So It’s worth it for me! ?

Sort of, Cybertruck is equivalent to 9 Powerwalls worth of energy (100+ kWh), but only 1 Powerwall worth of power (11.5kW or 48A).

When did you order your Cyberbeast, and, at that time, did you recieve the e-mail that called out the $4k credit?

Install Powershare Home Backup
Powershare Home Backup allows you to power your home with the energy stored in your Cybertruck’s battery pack, helping keep the lights on for up to three days when outages occur.* Your order is eligible for free Powershare Home Backup hardware and an installation allowance of $4,000.** Take our survey to confirm your interest and we will reach out to you with more information.
*Based on an average daily home energy usage of 30 kWh per day.
**Eligibility based on installation feasibility at your home

Thanks for clarifying. I was a little lazy in my answer.
