My CT was delivered pretty dirty, maybe a 7 or 7.5 out of 10. Inside the doors are completely untouched, just water spots and patina. Were yours like this too or were they cleaned/polished? I’m thinking I’ll try and clean it with BKF spray. What’s the protocol for the cleaning? I think I want to avoid Windex.

Mine too. I haven't attempted to clean them yet, other than trying ONR, which didn't work.

Mine looked the same. I used Citrisurf and it did a great job. Actually almost too good because I ended up with an area on the outside of the door that was clearly cleaner and slightly lighter/shinier than the rest of the truck. I ended up doing the whole truck. Was actually very similar and slightly easier than doing a wax job on a painted car. Spray on, use a cloth or paper towel to spread and slightly polish, wait 20-30 minute, rinse, dry to remove residue, rinse and dry a couple of more times untl all the dried whitish residue is gone or buffed in. Made a big improvment in the overall appearance. More uniform finish and slightly brighter. Also fingerprints and water spots are much less of a problem. I used the Citrisurf 2310 as a previous poster suggested because its a little thicker and easier to apply to the vertical surfaces. (Search “Passivating my Cybertruck”).

Below is a picture after I first did a quick test on just the front door. It was a big enough improvement I went ahead and did the whole truck. It even feels smoother and water runs off like it was polished with a good wax.

Great. This is very helpful. Thanks! Also, it sounds like this is what Tesla should be doing for deliveries.

Thanks for sharing.

I would love for someone to try applying Citrisurf 2310 and then scrub the surface with a non-scratch blue ScotchBrite pad while having a water hose at the standby for rinsing off the product.

I didn’t scrub it with anything abrasive, just paper towels and terry cloth, and it got rid of everything except a few tiny areas that are more like scratches or imperfections in the metal. Might be worth trying with ScotchBrite to see how it does with those areas but I bet you would end up having to do the whole truck again. Maybe next time.

The more I reflect on the process it is really very similar to many years ago when I would help my grandmother polish the silverware. After finishing the truck all the rags had turned black just like an old silver polishing cloth.

No. I did one side at a time. You could easily apply it to the whole truck, wait a few minutes and then start the rinsing, drying and repeating. It was partially in the sun when I was doing it so some areas were drying pretty fast and the instructions say to keep it moist so I broke it up into 4 parts: side, front, side and back.

I just tested cleaning my door jam. First with Windex without ammonia, ONR mix, which had no effect. Then I used BKF Soft Cleanser followed by ONR. Works like magic.

Also if you use Citrisurf you will likely end up with some white residue on plastic parts. This came off pretty easily with Isopropyl Alcohol.

Recommend tapping off plastics or comes easily enough to waste the time? Wonder if something like Adam's Iron Remover would work as well?

A SS inner door shell is very unique in the automotive industry. I don’t know of any other vehicle that has it.
