This video makes great points with overal FSD standardized software programming stacks/modules across fleet. CT vs all others is different (fly by wire vs mechanical inputs, 4-wheel steering, etc).

CY24Q3/Q4 at earliest.

Take with grain of salt I suppose, your mileage may vary...

Ran into a Tesla engineer today who’s specific to the CT team. He mentioned that FSD should be coming by the end of this month! And that some staff trucks are already testing with it.

I know Elon also mentioned “sometime in June” but we know how he is with timelines. Hope it’s true! I’m ready to be chauffeured.

Since the Cybertruck is steer by wire is it necessary to even turn the steering wheel while under FSD control. What would be the point?
Wow I never even thought of that. What would that feel like? It would take some getting used to. Now you've given us something to think about.

We have 3 kids. 5 years age difference from the first to the last. When they were all young, we used to make a trip to grandma's some 30 miles from home at least once a month, and they always annoyed us with " Are we almost there?....several times. On about the sixth trip, I reached a T in the road and was face on with a gigantic red hay barn. This was about 5 miles away from our destination. I pulled over and told the three "We are half way there, so it won't be TOO much longer. See that big red barn. Remember it. So the next time we go to granny's you'll know that we're half way there." And it worked. Not one of them ever asked again on our many trips to granny's. One or the other of them did always remark "I see the half-way barn." and then, of course it was only a 5 minute drive 'til we were there. It's the little things in life you never forget.

You guys seem to misunderstand what FSD means to Tesla. It is not a "sit back and read the paper" while your vehicle is driving you along. No, it won't go pick up your kids at school and bring them home safely. It is decent system that drives the car/CT OK most of the time. It is really at it's best when there are no other cars on the road. The other times, when it does not work, will be a total surprise. Or even where it used to work at an intersection, it doesn't work at that intersection anymore. You expect to follow the GPS route to your destination? It does that MOST of the time. This is negative me, but I do not believe Tesla will be able to deliver anything more than Level 2 FSD to our CTs with the current hardware. Yep, I'm a party pooper. I had hope for AI, but sorry folks, the vehicle needs more than hi res cameras for any higher level of FSD.

So care to opine on what the 8/8 event is going to discuss if not the functionality that you just described as not deliverable with the current hardware?
