Cybertruck brings the haters...

Seems like ever since I got my Cybertruck, a lot of my acquaintances suddenly have become experts about the Cybertruck. One specific friend keeps showing me threads from a subreddit called Cyberstuck and at first I asked why was he so interested in these posts when he doesn't own a Cybertruck. Then he continues to show me different posts from that thread. Now I just put a laughing emote at everything he shares. At first I didn't care but now its starting to get annoying. It's my first time owning an EV and this attention is crazy. Anyone have a similar experience like this?

I've had a few jealous bullies that couldn't help themselves but to let their emotions get the best of them. I just give them this little lie and it shuts them right up...
"You're better than that".

That's garden-variety jealousy. I wouldn't call that person a friend, they are obviously trying to bring you down to make themselves feel better.

I haven’t even received my Cybertruck, yet friends and family keep forwarding those type negative articles to me all the time as if trying to discourage me from taking delivery.

It's change. 99.99% have no clue.
It's like watching TV. Believing the bs.
But it's change. Can't deal with it.
I'll bet they were never in they military. I found that to be a big factor.

just lookup the guy who made the reddit sub, his history says it all, i find it hilarious to be hating on car for its reliability when you're into jaguars there are plenty of car companies i dislike i cannot imagine dedicating any time in my life to posting online about it.

My hater story:

I pulled up to the grocery store. Karen briskly walks up and first thing she said “ how much did you pay for THAT”? Dissatisfied inflection on THAT.

Turns out she was the service manager for the local FORD dealership. She complained that FORD made her install “$300,000.00” of EV upgrades to her dealership parking lot for “those stupid things”

Those who asks me about the price I just give them my father’s response to us “ are you going to pay me back?”. For others, he said if you ask the price you can’t afford it! It works but there are times when I let loose and tell them if they stayed in school and study hard they wouldn’t be employed as grease monkeys.

Good point. What's it to the haters? Jealousy is the most likely explanation, I think.

Had ours for a week, so far pretty positive, but really not that much attention. Here on the Space Coast of Florida I think folks are getting used to CT's.
I don't happen to have any haters in my circle of friends and acquaintances. At least none that have said anything.

Maybe let him drive it. Some people don't understand until they ride in it or drive it. If that doesn't just him up then it's hopeless. I have co-workers and friends that hate Tesla because they hate Elon.. Some people think he is evil so there is no fixing that.

I've also found that people close to me are the most vocal CT armchair experts. Some of my favorites are:

"You do know that you can't off-road or take that through a carwash, right?"

There's no such thing as an Offroad Car Wash, duh

"Did you know that things going to be completely rusted out in year?"

Great, the warranty will get me a brand-new truck every year!

"So what's your plan with that when we get hit with an EMP?"

I've been pretty amazed at how many people straight up ask me how much I paid for my CT. I would never ask someone how much they paid for there car. It's something you can google in 1 minute. Now when people ask I say less than a Ford Raptor.

This is it.. butts in seats.. let them ride or drive… shoot it worked for me like 3 years ago.. I was a ‘skeptical EV guy’. Then I rode in a Y, then drove one… haven’t looked back since. Any of my co-workers who criticize it, I will let them drive it… guarantee it will at least slow their criticism roll

What I said was, "and you're going to get gas from electric pumps, with an electric starter, electric timing computer are you?" ? I don't think these emp people quite realize how screwed they already are with or without an EV.

Also, I don’t have time for those who hate Elon like that … every time I ask for one specific thing they hate about him (usually my left leaning friends), they can’t produce one specific example… they just don’t want to admit he doesn’t align with their politic bubble.. at least my right leaning friends can give their reasons - “electric cars are dumb” ??
Here I am in the middle just enjoy driving a car (Y, 3, soon to be CT) for the first time in my life
