Sure, so you are just saying that the Tesla documentation is wrong?

It's this way for my Model 3 and my Model Y.
yeah, there is a semantic issue in the manual. this post seems to explain it.

Independent clamping systems and different clamping forces.

As referenced later in the thread, there's a separate thread calling out higher voltages sent to the clamping system for the parking brake vs park.

So take your pick of assumptions on how it works, but the system is not precisely the same, unclamping and reclamping the same way when you engage the parking brake.

So where's your apology? All my statements, except for maybe the recycling one seems to be correct.

Ok, now that makes me want to go test this out.
1) Go on the ramp to launch the boat and use the normal parking brake (either push P or open the door). - do I get the warning?
2) Be on the ramp and use the Safety, Set Parking brake icon and see if I get the warning

I guess I have to tell the wife “for the sake of other Tesla Cybertruck owners I have to go fishing tomorrow”. ?

I got the warning with the parking brake, not just with park.

It seemed like maybe I had a separate option to apply the trailer brake manually, but it was a quick launch so I didn't explore that much

Yeah, I have no trailer brakes so that isn’t an option for me. I just don’t understand why it’s a warning. The ramp is not to steep and my boat trailer. It’s not that heavy. I’ve just been throwing a chalk under one of the wheels.

The Cybertruck can't necessarily know the weight of the trailer especially since you could load it after parking. So it displays a warning if the braking force could be insufficient.

If angle > EPB_limit then display warning
Where EPB_limit is determined by:
sin(EPB_limit)=(parking brake force)/((Max vehicle weight + max trailer weight) *safety factor)

I figured this would have been posted already. Sorry if this is a repeat.

I have no idea how that could have happened. I’ve been towing and launching my boat since I picked up my truck in what will be a year, three days from now. I’ve gotten the parking brake message nearly every time and been on some uncomfortably steep ramps without the truck so muck as budging while I’m launching or loading my boat.

It’s almost like that person purposefully backed it in because the truck automatically puts itself in park when you take your seatbelt off.

This is what happens when 1) boat ramps aren't properly descaled and get slick as glass and 2) when people are too embarrassed to use simple wheel chocks.

Across the country someone everyday swamps their truck at a boat ramp, it was just news because it was a cybertruck. Look at any of those reasons why it happened and it will be the same for that truck.
