We have to remove the blackout film to use it right? Or is it like a translucent film?

Are you saying the Dual motor AWD trucks will get the lightbar for free? Or they will get it IF you paid extra?
Only if it was listed as included when you paid the $1,000.

It’s not going to have an “on read setting” because it’s like not DOT approved for it.
Most states require a cover over any off-road lights above the headlights too. The 50” lightbars were popular in 2014 and cops wrote a lot of tickets at least in CA for it not being covered.
my guess is it will arrive with some plastic cover for driving on roads to avoid DOT issues

Funny, 12 years in CA with my light bar on thr roof of my 4runner and never got anything from the cops.

Although it's seriously blinding to other incoming motorists.

But very useful finding your campsite or your way inside forest roads.

They should be selling it with some kind of on road cover instead of a black tape over the light

Cyberbeast owner. Can confirm I just got the email.
Any chance they start delivering Beasts with light bar and aero covers installed? Curious when that cut over will take place. I have a VIN with no date but I don’t imagine I’ll get either when I take delivery.

Promising! Do you happen to have a link?

I‘m Team Tesla on the lightbar, haha!! I didn’t realize that you’d be able to control the brightness from the UI.

And did you notice in the off-road mode video they mentioned “Ditch lights”?? Interesting!!

Right at 3:47:
Yeah, who knows. This is like decoding a Musk tweet, haha!!

He says, “We can control the main light, the ditch light, all the brightness directly on the UI”

I agree there’s no indication of a brightness control on the UI shown in the video.

Now I really can’t wait for it to drop, haha!!

How about a translucent cover accessory that would dim the light bar to very low intensity so you can keep it on road… I’m sure there’s an innovator there that can produce such cover! ?

Work light. Not really on-road use, but useful for folk who don't go off-road still. I wonder what it does to the range.
You have to be in off road mode to activate it. When you go into the off road app there is a section for it.
