Costco, get the Jumbo size.

This works for me.
Want better coverage? Get 2 of them.
It takes me less than a minute to put up or take down.

Bingo. these are available at multiple Costcos around me and they're a perennial favorite--I first bought my first one I think maybe 4 years ago and it's the exact same product as they have now. I only use one of the jumbo for my CT. I have it angled slightly down from the windshield so that the visors can hold it in place, but it works just fine.

I do see the asterisk of temporary death on the price tag in your photo, but I anticipate it'll come back next year for anyone who can wait that long.

I don’t have my CT yet but this looks promising.

I’ve got one of those. I’m using it, it’s summer in South Florida, but it’s unwieldy. The internal wire structure to me seems stiffer than it has to be making it difficult to flex when you slide it into place. If not careful I can see how you could easily damage the LCD screens with it. If I had a tinted window, I’d be worried this would scratch the film.

Frankly, I don’t get the case for the designer’s selection of such a huge windshield. It’s not advantageous for enhancing the view from the driver’s seat, a-lot of people remark about the A pillar blind spot. It hasn’t provided a significant advantage in wind resistance, the Rivan has lower wind drag. It certainly worsens the problem with heat penetrating the cabin. It created an engineering problem designing a windshield wiper. It had to push up the cost of the truck. So why was this a feature of a clean sheet future truck designed by supposedly smart people?

Ok I got this one…. HOW THE HECK do y’all deploy this thing… what a bear

it’s huge!
It is big, but I actually have the easiest time with this one compared to the other types. They’re all huge because of the immensity of the windshield, can’t be helped. My technique with this shade is this:
1. Open both visors and swing them towards the doors. Unwind the screen from its compressed state, flat on the dashboard. Make sure it’s oriented correctly so that the Velcro end is toward you.
2. The shade should be flat, but still folded in half, the silver layer is inside. Here’s the key — I then take one edge, compress the wire frame on that side so you can open it across the dashboard like opening a book or turning a page. This does rest lightly on top of the control screen, but won’t hurt it. Once I open it flat, I then slide the screen down to the front of the dashboard and secure the top edge under the visors and tie the Velcro around the mirror. I don’t have any film on my windshield, but I’m not scraping the window hard and the wire frame is covered with fabric.

Takes a little practice, but use the dashboard as your table and you won’t feel like you’re opening an inflatable life raft in your seat. I’m a petite female 5’4” and I can now manage this easily. Hope this helps, or maybe you’ll figure out a technique that works for you

Is it really necessary / worth the cost and effort (every time) to use the sunshade?

I had the habit of using a sunshade too with my previous cars. But CT made me rethink.
1) CT’s cooling seems to be much more effective and fast than traditional cars. Within a minute or so after sitting inside the car the is exposed under sun, it cools down to a comfortable level.
2) I can also start to get into the habit to think ahead and turn on AC from the app on my way to the car.
3) If I read the manual correctly, the windows (front, top, side) are already heat and UV shielded.
4) Covering front window still leaves top and sides for sun to heat up through.
5) Deploying and packing up sunshade adds way more time/effort comparing to how much time/effort Tesla tried to save from parking to driving (keyless entry, auto door open (I think I read this somewhere in the manual), auto-shift (beta), auto start on navigation (to home/work)).

of course I can imagine I change my mind next time I spend a summer in the southern part of the country.

This is also what I use. I posted a thread about it.
2 is the way to go. Every other CT owner at the supercharges looks in awe at what a genius idea. ?

What I like the most is that your can collapse both at the same time together and when it’s folded it fits under the passenger seat.

Wrap the lose material in the middle around the rearview and use a plastic clip to hold it.
