And supposedly the Cybertruck will be the first recipient of the brand new dry cathode 4680 battery packs in Q4.

Wow cool wonder if it’s worth waiting to get this battery rather than the older model?
You will always get something better if you wait longer. The question is do you want to keep waiting, forever?

It's just supposedly making manufacturing cheaper and more reliable. No impact on range.

This is the point where Tesla focuses on optimizing production and reducing costs, specifications rarely change.

If no change in range, is there a change in battery degradation that is meaningful? What about max power delivery? Could Beast mode get more beastly? Just curious what it all means and so far I haven't seen a detailed explanation.

It makes the battery cheaper, easier, and faster to make. It allows for greater energy density, and better overall performance and cycle longevity. It takes less equipment to make, so they can install more manufacturing lines in the same space.

It's a key factor in making the 4680 what it was promised to be when they first unveiled it at battery day.

It's a big step and could be a pretty big deal.

Longetivity and reliability will be a concern. Like Elon suggested, don't buy Tesla during ramp-up unless you're willing to take on the risks

You are absolutely right, if you aren't ready for the fry pan, don't get in it.

Early production Model 3 - no issues
Early production Model Y - no issues
Early production Cybertruck - no issues.

A great review by Joe T. Freshly assembled Cybertruck’s might be driving through the newly installed tunnel sometime in August.
