Hold the line boys, the end is near!

I refuse to pay 20k FS tax for some garbage accessories I don't need.

At this point they are just holding off so FS buyers don't feel ripped off. There are no more FS takers left. Remember, they are yet to get FSD, the only useful item on that FS 20k tax

I don't care about EV tax Credit. Actually, I won't qualify once I file my tax for 2024.
80k is my breaking point, not a cent more
We both know you will pay more than $80k. I did not want a FS either but after adding things up, it’s not as bad as you think, I would say it’s a $4-$5k markup. FSD is the biggest benefit obviously.

I wonder what is going to happen to all the undelivered foundations series. Are they going to change the trim pieces and body panels to remove the badging?
FS is made to order so they won't have overflow inventory, maybe a few here and there from people who didn't take delivery for some reason or another.

It’s only a $2k expedited delivery tax. You will eventually find yourself buying (generally) all the accessories that were included with FS. Original reservation holders locked in FSD at $7k. MSRP went up $7k, from $73k to $80k. So the initial $80k I signed up for in 2019 ($73k+$7k), all other things remaining constant, went up to $87k. Now we’re at a $13k delta. Accessories, powershare equipment or voucher, subscriptions, etc…sum to $11k-ish.

And trust me, you will buy the roof sun shade, you will buy the L-Track hooks, you will buy the center console organizer, you will buy mobile powershare connector, you will buy you will buy you will buy….Telsa Shop or Alibaba…you will buy.

I’m not starting an argument in any way shape or form, just trying to clear the air. I sat on my FS invite email in March for 8 days. Something I never thought I would do. But after the pricing analysis on everything that was included, I justified the 6-8 week expedited delivery fee over waiting god knows how much longer. The first 4.5 years were long enough.

So if it’s $80k not a cent more that youre after, I dont think you’ll find it unless FSD is not in your future.
I rarely drive anyway honestly. I'm turning 40 in a couple of months and cybertruck was supposed to be my gift to myself.

I currently have a used 2018 Infiniti q50 with twin turbo v6 that makes 300hp, financed at 1.49 APR. from 2021 with monthly payment of $398. Sweet ride and Sweet Deal. I do not want to trade it in neither am I in a hurry to pay it off. I want to keep it as a second vehicle.

I can manage both payments if I get a Non-FS CT. An FS- will push me over the edge.

This pay 1k to delivery is a circus
They said I could place deposit for order. I got several emails.
I paid the 1k on 30 may. Then they wanted registration information. I did all of it. Nothing one word since. 2 months, not one peep.
To try to get more orders when u have millions in the que is ridiculous
Delivery in 2035???

A couple of weeks ago (July 17) on a whim I reserved a CT (after cancelling my previous one). I figured we would re-visit next year or so. This afternoon I got an invite to order the Foundation Series for delivery in next month!

So I can confirm that Tesla is now at the very end of the reservation list and inviting pretty much anyone who puts down $250 to buy an FS CT. On the positive side, that means opening orders for the regular trim cannot be more than a few weeks away.

It will be interesting to see how long the waiting list is for the non-FS, AWD which is listed for $79,990 and eligible for the tax credit. I'm in.

This happened to me too. I cancelled my reservation and even my "non-refundable" deposit, and got both back.

But after sitting in and later renting a Cybertruck and being thoroughly impressed, I placed another $250 deposit and then got another Foundation Series (FS) invite almost immediately. Tesla must be getting desperate to offload the FS CTs to the last few people who want to be "first."

I'm really struggling right now trying to decide if I'll wait and see what the $80,000 CT model comes with, or pull the trigger on the $100,000 FS.

The real mystery right now is what features or options the first $80,000 CT models will have or require you to purchase. Note that what's listed for the $80,000 CT doesn't include any mention of power outlets. Tesla might pull a Ford and make those a every expensive option.

Foundation Series Options List:
  • 318 mi. range (Est.)
  • 4.1 sec. 0-60 mph
  • 112 mph top speed
  • 600 horsepower
  • 7,435 lb-ft torque
  • 11,000 lbs. towing capacity
  • "Premium Accessories" (whatever the hell that means)
  • Powershare Home Backup
  • Powershare Mobile Connector
  • Full Self-Driving Capability
  • Lifetime Premium Connectivity

$80,000 Series Options List:
  • 340 mi. range (EST.)
  • 4.1 sec. 0-60 mph
  • 112 mph top speed
  • 600 horsepower
  • 7,435 LB-FT torque
  • 11,000 lbs. towing Capacity

I don’t think they will start selling non FS until the cyberbeast orders are filled too. So probably looking at 2025 or close too it.

I just got my invite 2 weeks ago but it was off the long time shareholder early delivery program. VIN was last week, hopefully taking delivery soon.

I predict we will see non-FS e-mail invites go out before the end of Q3.

I believe Tesla recently changed their model year start date. They used to start the next years production on January 1st but they recently did a change. Rivian recently copied Tesla and are now manufacturing refreshed R1’s and selling them as 2025’s.

I believe Tesla switches over to 2025 production around late October or early November.

Desperate? Lol - until such time as Foundation production officially ends, every new order will get that option, which will come fast, like ordering a MY or M3. As for premium accessories, there's no mystery if you look.
