I have had the same issue with my new model 3 performance but I finally got it to work again. What I did was reboot by pressing the 2 scroll wheels after the screen comes back on give it a minute go to your light show and it will show up, what ever you do do not press the media source icon because once you do that the usb will show up and it will only recognize the mp3/wav files. I made that mistake and had to reboot again for the light shows to work.

I tried to attempt making lightshow files...WAAAAAY over my head. Is there a place that people share these files? I am looking for the Star spangled banner by Jimi Hendrix and any other files.

I have the same issue. My lightshows used to work then after a software update a few weeks back I can't get them to show up again.
I had this issue happen again to me after this last update a few days ago. However, like @24Model3 P suggested, all I had to do is to reboot the screen by holding down both scroll wheel buttons, then wait a bit, then all your lightshows will show up again.

My biggest issue is not knowing where to download CT specific lightshows. Most of the ones I have don't utilize the front lightbar of the CT which really sucks.

I had to subscribe to light show.io and pay the 5bucks for the monthly patraeon I cancelled after I got the ones I needed. Also the issue with the light shows not working was really due to me copy and pasting the files over that will not work you have to extract the files directly to the thumb drive and rename it in there do not copy and paste if you are on the new firmware like me.

if you want the new Star Wars one you have to subscribe to lightshow.io to get it. The show alone is worth 5 bucks for the monthly subscriber after that just cancel that’s what I did.

This doesn't work, at least not for me. I literally got in the truck and click on lightshows so that would be showing. No music playing, not looking at the music/audio source selection, etc. I rebooted the system with both buttons, let the system come back up showing the Toybox, clicked on lightshows, clicked on the drop down for shows and NOPE no custom shows showing up.

yeah it seems there is a bug in update 24.20.9 got In my car this morning and the custom shows are greyed out again I will just leave it alone for now not going to keep reboot just for the shows very frustrating.

Had this same issue in my Model Y running 12.5.1 FSD. LightShow worked perfectly in the last version but now all custom shows are gone. The reboot didn’t work for me either.

I just got an update this morning 2024.26.10 which includes the summer updates and that seemed to fix my issue. Just wanted to share because my issue seamed to be consistent with what the group was reporting. Hope this helps.

UPDATE:
I just got my CT back from service, (it's first since delivery), where I specified 2 body panel misalignment's and the issue with Custom LightShows.
They had the truck for a week. Fixed the panels on day 1. They kept it for the additional days to diagnose the Lightshow issue.
They had Regional Tech experts look into it, searched all the tech notes in their service database, etc... They acknowledge it is a known issue with a bunch of CT's, but do NOT, as of yet, have any idea why it works for some, but not all. They are continuing to 'work' on the issue.
The workaround to get it to work ONCE and then no longer work:

Two-Button reset with the drive plugged in.
Unplug drive after reset, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in.
The CLS's now show up and can be played, UP UNTIL THE CT GOES TO SLEEP.

Then it no longer works.. Lousy that you need to go through that procedure, but until we get a S/W fix (which they assume will come down the pike at some point), it's all we have.

Oh, BTW - they gave me a loaner X for the week (80k miles, older model) and I got to try out FSD for the first time. Scared the hell out of me on a highway that had temporary construction lines that jinked and juked left and right at one point, I thought it was gonna miss the turns and fling us over the embankment, so I wrestled the wheel back and took over. I think on the I15 between LA and Las Vegas, I would trust it in a straight line. But I am truly afraid of using it in an 8500# CT when we finally get it. Just thought I'd share.. ;)

I tried this method and got it to work! Woot! But as you said, only for so long as my truck doesn't go to sleep, then it is back to not working again and I have to repeat the process to get the custom light shows to show up. At least I have some way of doing it now, thank you!

I tried this method:
1) Two-Button reset with the drive plugged in.
2) After reset and screen comes back up went into ToolBox/Light Shows and was able to see my custom light shows. Was able to select one.
3) CT has gone to sleep multiple times and did some driving around. Just checked ToolBox/Light Shows and was not able to see my custom light shows.

I had same issue. It started when I began using a spare Tesla USB. Did all that has been mentioned above to no avail. Every thread says format drive in exFat. I use a MacBook and formatted in the DOS and now works perfectly every time…. For now…. Exactly opposite of what everyone tells you to format. I am not running sentry or have any other folders on the drive FYi.

Had SAME issue. I was swapping out UsB drives and then overnight it just completely disappeared. I tried everything including reformatting to the exfat…. After oiling my hair out I formated in DOS on my MacBook and boom…. All work again. Even after it sleeps. Maybe I got lucky but give it a shot

What format does the drive say it is when you formated on MacBook in DOS (exfat, fat32, fat, ntfs)?
