Well, things are changing from hey that's cool, what is it, etc, etc to Middle fingers, yelling Gay, run off the road in the past 2 months. Now, in a boys will be boys/Hick town of Sonora, CA yep, rocks and fire crackers thrown at the truck. What's next? I don't want to know but just want to prosecute. Sentry Mode work while driving? Haven't used yet for that but while parked yes. Will it work if something is thrown at it as in recording all the time and for how long?

No. It won't record unless someone is close enough.

You sure you aren't taking up 2 spaces or cutting people off? No one has given me a middle finger or even shown any aggression towards a vehicle.

People want to see it, but for the most part they don't care what you drive.

I use the built-in dash cam that records the complete drive and when I honk it saves a video clip.
Go in your menu and tap the dash cam icon to make sure it’s recorded past drives.

if a event happens I record it on my phone for safe keeping just in case the same person does something again later vs a one time event. I’ve done this for a truck that swerved head on at me. Also considered concealed carry if you are comfortable with that. Getting ran off the road is no joke and someone attacking you at a stop light wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibilities with these bizzare lash-outs ??‍♂ at the minimum have some pepper spray in the door storage!

I have no idea how people are getting hate over the CT. I live in a conservative area of the country and have gotten nothing but love and admiration. Hell Houston is full of oil refineries and it's one of their main industries.

Sentry mode records nearby events and impacts while parked.

Dash cam (depending on the settings) records the last hour of driving, saves clips when you press the horn, press the icon or there is an impact.

Sentry mode, in my experience with my other 4 Teslas, doesn't record objects hitting without an individual being close by. I guess if it was hard enough it would, but didn't record hail.

To your point, either it's the left attacking or it's the drivers. South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida have been nothing but curious. I've had a few tell me they think it's ugly, but they follow it up with "beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I hope you enjoy it".

Sentry Mode while driving is called Dashcam. It records continuously, although you'll want to either save clips manually or use the save on honk option otherwise it will overwrite after some time. The big advantage with Dashcam is that unlike Sentry Mode, it uses no additional power, since all those systems are normally running while driving.

I live in NC where truck meets think it's fun to ICE supercharger locations and the worst I've experienced is a couple teenage middle fingers, but we all know they get their brains detached for a few years of young adulthood. What you're describing sounds like a pattern of hostile behavior and premeditated harassment. It might be worth discussing the issue with your local PD.

LOL. No. I drive in the slow lane, never in a hurry. Mostly the finger is from someone coming head on and either in a Ford truck or Dodge. One time an electric bike rider in Oakland, CA gave me the finger while I was waiting at a stop light and he was crossing the intersection. California!!!

very true about the kids...It happens so randomly and many different cities/towns. I drive 150 miles a day to different places so it's just random brainless acts. But would love to get my hands on anyone who touches, throws things at my vehicle. Was hoping the camera system was better than what you're describing. too bad. Maybe I'll glue a bunch of Ring cameras on the truck sounds better than the Sentry Mode.

crazy people out there and I guess I attract them here in California. Thanks for the info, I'll make sure the Dash cam is on and Honk mode is active for recording while driving.

One can change it to a thumb wheel favorite if not feeling like a honk is warranted or might not be good timing for a honk. That is how mine is set.

I've never had sentry mode on in my Cybertruck, Model 3 or Model Y. (okay, maybe a few minutes to play with it or enable remote video)
Never needed to have it on.

I know the clips are saved to the USB drive in the glovebox. But how are you recording them on your phone. Are you just recording the playback on the truck screen? I like the idea of having them on my phone for future reference. Thx.
