The FS trucks appears to be ending soon and “normal” versions will likely start production shortly. However, Tesla being Tesla I predict a catch will be involved and it will be a big one.

My prediction is that non-FS AWD and CyberBeast trucks will be offered at $80k and $100k respectively BUT Tesla will initially make Full Self Driving MANDATORY during the initial non-FS launch due to high demand. This mandatory option will eventually be dropped as buyer demand wanes for the Cybertruck.

The $79,990 AWD version will still qualify for the $7500 tax credit since software doesn’t count towards the $80k price cap.

Bottom line? It might be years before you can purchase a $79,990 Cybertruck with the $7500 federal tax credit.

My prediction is that non-FS AWD and CyberBeast trucks will be offered at $80k and $100k respectively BUT Tesla will initially make Full Self Driving (FSD) MANDATORY due to high demand. This mandatory option will eventually be dropped as demand wanes for the Cybertruck.

The AWD version will be $88k and still qualify for the $7500 tax credit since software doesn’t count towards the $80k price cap.

Bottom line? It May be awhile before you can purchase a $79,990 Cybertruck with the $7500 federal tax credit.

A company continues to see sales at higher price points that customers are willing to pay. No shenanigans. Just business.

$90k for AWD with FSD.
Don't even pay attention to beast so don't care.
I have zero regrets about paying $99,990 for my FS AWD. Hell, I'd have probably forked over $10k more if they had demanded it. The truck is so worth it

My prediction is that the AWD does not qualify for tax credits.
My prediction is that tax credits go away. They only help Elon's competitors and Elon is backing Trump now.

Elon made a comment yesterday about Cybertruck affordability...

Elon Musk on Tuesday reiterated the company’s intent to make its latest offering- the Cybertruck- more affordable in the future.

What Happened: “It’s a great truck,” Musk wrote on social media platform X. “We need to make it more affordable in the years to come.”

Expect to see de-contenting on future versions to make it happen. A lot of standard features may become optional.

As Tesla keeps needing to discount and offer low APRs to move their other models, the CT is becoming a much needed lifeline for their revenue stream. They will fight tooth and nail to milk it for all they can. Look at how long they have extended the FS offer. People are starting to get invites for their 2nd and 3rd reservations.

I do think they will keep the 80k and 100k prices. Possible avenues for Tesla to preserve eligibility for the tax break without sacrificing as much revenue are:
  • Making the offroad mode a paid addon.
  • Increasing premium data cost
  • Towing software package
  • Tonneau cover as an addon
  • Like OP said, get first in line w/ FSD purchase
  • Killing the $2500 credit
  • Not including chargers (like with the 3 and Y)

Need to consider context when using the term "high demand" yes the truck has massive buzz but at its current pricing wouldn't call selling 70k trucks out of a 2 million plus list "high demand" demand will be much higher without the FS markup and even higher in a few years when the price is even lower.

As of right now it has about the same demand as the S or X which is not very high as the customer base is limited due to price and economic factors. Elon him sled has said many times people buy cars based on the monthly payment they can afford and nothing else.

I think 70k is insanely generous, but your point is true.

it's not prediction but speculation! Who speculates-those who badly want Cybertruck.
Meanwhile, stock crash is a great opportunity and much better to pay off/part of Cybertruck so that you don't keep speculating every month. :p
But then Ford Raptor price is over $100k-is anybody predicting their price cut/fall?

Once again the case for FS purchase looks like a bargain. People are going to be pissed when they held out for a $79k stripped out vehicle and had to wait forever and a day.
