Just received two jump seats. I’m not sure about the back rest. If it’s not leaning up against anything, how much weight can it actually take. I sat on the floor in it and went back about 4-5 inches I’m just not sure how far back or for how long it will last without tearing the side mesh. I have to think it’s much more durable than it seems. Anyone else have these that can speak on it. I still have to get the Tailgate Shield so I can attach the chairs to it.

Oh nice. I’ll be following along for your longer term impressions. These would be great to watch kids’ sporting events from if I get a good enough spot for the truck.

Thanks for sharing. Curious what you’ll think after installing them with the tailgate shield. They seem easy to fold and store. Too bad they didn’t make these also attachable to the frunk for added versatility.
Great statement. My truck is in the shop getting the roof replaced (cracked) but I’ll see if at least one might fit in the frunk to sit on. I don’t think the frunk is deep enough. I’ll take pictures.

Agreed would love to see options for the frunk even if it’s just separate back and seat cushions.

Dammit!! Thanks for your post. I had $200 left on my voucher so went with jump seat, but completely overlooked the Tailgate Shield. I honestly never even thought about the mounting ?‍♂. I am excited to see what you think, I was also curious about the back support, hope that corner fabric is a strong material.

If it breaks during normal use they will have to repair or replace. I just got 2 of them today but I haven’t opened the box yet. I already had bought the tailgate thingy and haven’t opened that yet either. So I am useless. Sorry.

Update: I finally attached the tailgate protector (TP) yesterday. No instructions on how to go about it but here they are (if I did it correctly):

- open the tailgate
- unfold the TP so that the loop sections are on the inside of the tailgate and the thick cusions are on the outside
- remove the plastic over the metal loops
- loosen the velcro tabs most of the way
- drop the metal loops through the bottom of the tailgate gap
- insert the long strap from the outside up through the tailgate gap
- close the tailgate
- attach the metal loops to their counterpart loops
- unclasp the 'lock'
- attach the long strap to the 'lock' loop
- close the 'lock'
- tighten the velcro straps for the metal loops

I think that is what I did. Attaching the seats was pretty straight forward. They have 2 metal loops on each side and you just slide them onto the loops on the TP. I sat in one and found it to be a bit narrow and if I lean back a lot it doesn't have a lot of support. Its more of a 'cathartic' support.

Not enough room for back cushions up there.
I sat in mine a couple times and I think there are tbh. It’s not gonna be the thickest cushion but some general padding can do
