Mine had chips too, but they replaced the windshield on my "delivery issue" SC visit. While traditionally I would not take possession of a vehicle if it had issues, Tesla does things a little different. Even if you DID notice issues upon taking delivery, they won't be addressed then and there, you have 100 Miles/3 days to report them via the app, and then however long it takes to get your SC appointment.

Food for thought... You waited as long as you did, if it comes down to some minor cosmetic stuff, I would just take it and immediately make service request (with note "observed within 100 miles/3 days of delivery"), and take photos that was time/date stamped. My windshield was quoted $2752, and they waived all fees.

Good for you.

I'm sure that someone else is going to be happy with your truck and hopefully you'll get a replacement before next year.

Yes it’s a hard pill to swallow $120k + and having chips on both sides of the glass , I considered doing the service appointment thing but then I was worried they would screw it up even more at the local service center cause they probably don’t have much experience since it’s so new. Heard stories on here they left extra adhesive and caused other issues I guess will wait for a other one waiting 4 years lol what’s another 4 lol

Sorry this happened to you and I do not know the extent of your issues. When I took delivery, I was disappointed in the condition. It was filthy and there was a misaligned door. I took it anyway, cleaned it myself, and then had the service center near me fix the door. I am sure this was a hard decision for you. It was hard for me as well. While I am glad I did what I did based on the condition of my truck, I also think you probably made the right call. It is frankly embarrassing that the Tesla delivery/service center would even attempt to deliver it to you in that condition. I am sure it was originally fine from the factory. The service center should be able to see these issues and correct them prior to delivering to the ultimate customer. Tesla must do better in the last few inches before delivering. This is a very easy and solvable issue. Hope your next one comes soon.

agree With this if they were a pain with there service I would say no but it seems that they take it right in and fix the issue. I’m sure they can replace a windshield pretty easy

So what happens if you reject ? Do they put you first for the next one that comes in or what ? Honestly replacing a windshield seems pretty cut and dry vs side panels and mechanical things.

They put you in a holding pattern for 1-2 weeks then you are next on the list , from what I gather demand for CB is not super high so that’s a plus but I guess we will wait and see , they were very nice and respectful and totally understood my concerns,

I wonder if they will fix the issues before selling it?
