UGH!!!! Went out this morning and heard a “click click click” sound coming from the rear of the truck. It was all too familiar so I turned around and came home. Upon inspection found a screw in the rear passenger tire. I have an appointment at Costco to get the tire plugged. Have any of you had to have your tire plugged? I’m really hoping it’s not a replacement since you can’t buy these from anyone other than Tesla at this point.

"Official" tire places (Costco, discount tire, etc) won't repair any tires that have a screw or a nail too close to the sidewall, other than that they should repair it for you. I had a screw too close to the sidewall few weeks back, discount tire did not fix it per their policy, instead had it replaced for free through their warranty, they had to order the tire and it got there in 2 days, in the meantime I went to my cheap shop down the road and the guy plugged it for me until the new tire came into discount tire. I got the certificate/warranty from discount tire, it's $100 per tire I think.

I got a nail in my tire, they tried plug and patching it twice but there was still a tiny leak because the nail went in sideways, so they ordered a new tire, it’s like 512, wasn’t from Tesla just an awesome tire shop (Torello tire if anyone lives in CT). Don’t believe anything you hear about Tesla having exclusive tires, you can get any tire you want not from Tesla. This is the cybertruck tire from TireRack, it’s the same tire, has dual design sidewalls so the other side that’s not visible in the picture is the side that they put out on your truck.

Is that really the same tire??

That's the right model but the picture looks like the Wrangler territory MT which were also erroneously delivered to my discount tire and they had to reorder them which took an extra 2 days. Even the packaging on the outside said RT.

I just had the same thing. Mine was deeper than that and just noticed the tire wasn’t holding air with a slow leak. Tire center drilled and patched it just fine.

Had the same thing happen to me and was able to get it patched at Tesla for free. Only downside to the AT tires. They seem to pick up everything but I love the way they look so much lol.

My tires only lasted about 15k miles. Decided to get Michelin Defender LTX Platinums instead of going with the Goodyear’s. We’ll see how many miles the Michelin’s get before needing to be replaced.

Where did you even find that picture? This is the only picture on TireRack which is an RT

Are those all season tires? And what size did you get? Just interested to know how it affects your range

They’re all season. I got them the same as the AT tires, 285/65r20
The tread depth has 14/32 instead of the 11/32 with the oem Goodyears. They’re e rated but have the same weight as the Goodyears and they also have a 70k mile warranty. Downside is they cost more than the Goodyears too but I think it will be worth it if my range stays or improves and that they last longer.

I googled Wrangler territory MT because I remember the discount tire guy telling me that the MT came in a RT packaging, something makes me think Goodyear has then mixed up.

Had mine repaired at Les Schwab, they were careful to read the manual and go to Jack Mode. Has worked great, no leaks. Inexpensive.

The guy at Costco was great. He knew how to ”start” it without me having to tell him, I knew about Jack Mode, and I was able to watch him through the window and see the care he took with the CT. I was quite impressed.
