My CT has a crazy loud screeching noise coming from the front end. 5k miles. Earliest appointment is a month out. Maybe related to motor?!

Vin 216 Beast. No details for me either. I have a service scheduled for August for some of the other issues. I’ll ask.

Has anyone been tracking the motor revisions on their Cybertrucks?
I just checked the Tesla EPC parts catalogue and noted the following letters on the vehicle parts which may not be fully indicative of exactly how many changes (a change in another part may force an updated part revision on the primary unit as well).

Front Drive Unit
Tri-Motor - Rev J (8th)
Dual-Motor - Rev F (6th)

Rear Drive Unit
Tri-Motor - Rev E (5th)
Dual-Motor - Rev G (7th)

I know Tesla design their vehicles like software so its hard to track this specifically, and many times changes are made for cost cutting or improved designs vs. just reliability so take everything as a grain of salt. I knew on my Model 3P in 2018, it was on revision E to G, within 1-1.5 years of launch as they changed the FETs within the motors to a lower cost option.

My log from back that.

My AWD early vin (February) is in for service for the various recalls. The service center had not heard for the drive unit replacement at all. Not for me or any other CT. SoCal if it matters.

This article is stating that early Cybertrucks are getting their motors upgraded to improve efficiency.

Has anyone been contacted about this yet?

TESLA Tesla is upgrading the Cybertruck’s electric motor
I noticed yesterday that Tesla had added a service line to my upcoming appointment to replace a drive unit. I figured I must be in the group to get an “efficiency upgrade”. (VIN 1391)

HOWEVER, Just now on my drive I got error messages that the “rear drive unit is disabled. OK to drive. Schedule service. Speed limited to 65”. I am starting to suspect this motor replacement is a known hardware problem and Tesla is attempting to be proactive in resolving them.

NOW, I am about 2,700 miles from home, planning to return in 10 days. Every SC in the Seattle area where I am staying is booked until NEXT MONTH (at least 30 days from now!). ?

Will see how this goes when I visit an SC tomorrow… ?

That really sucks! I hope they can squeeze you in considering your situation.

But yeah a working motor is about 100% more efficient than a non-working one, so in a way they are telling the truth.
