Does anybody else feel like a new design of the Cybertruck is a “slow boil” of a frog? The initial vision is a large truck with a stainless steel body bent in right places and a unicast that transfers the load from the frame to the body of the truck. It looks massive, impressive, and cyber… Glass is able to withstand rocks, sides the bullets and it seats 6. Moreover, it is going to be so cheap to produce and the range will kick such an ass(500 miles), that it will be a game changer and disruptive for existing truck market. New Cybertruck is the aluminum cast with the raw unambiguous stainless steel plate panels that are thin, unbend, cut the skin, fastened to aluminum cast, smaller truck in size, standard glass that cracks left and right based on feedback, price tag out of this world and nothing but problems. I am a die hard fan for Tesla but I am feeling like something is just wrong between what I have being waiting for 5 years and what is offered. Does anybody else realizing what is happening? Or we are just ready to jump on any grenade as long as it say “Cybertruck” in Tesla’s font on it?
Negative, it's better than i expected in every way. Sure, i would have liked to pay 2019 prices for this vehicle in 2024, but, I'd also like 2019 home prices, mortgage rates and vehicle loan rates, and a whole bunch of other things, in 2024.

Folks need to stop acting like they plopped down the full asking price in 2019 for something, and then were delivered something else. If this vehicle is not for you, take the $100 and go buy something else, not a big deal.

Having been driving my Dual Motor for the last 4+ months through everything from Interstate to mountain goat trails, and everything inbetween, I would have to say Elon and team delivered far more than what I originally envisioned.

From my position, having actually used the truck extensively, you appear gullible to misinformation, like a person who is poorly equipped to sort fact from fiction. I mean, talking about glass cracking left and right, panels that cut the skin, prices out of this world, etc.

To put things into perspective, if I had paid $100K+ for an F-150 King Ranch, Platinum or Raptor with all the fixings, including an unprotected painted bed, no motorized tonneau cover, a body subject to rusting tacked onto a regular steel ladder frame, a stereo that just sounds wrong and can't go loud without massive distortion, lower payload and towing specs, and awkward manuevering in tight spaces with a body that gets damaged if you look at it wrong, and that drinks gas like a drunken sailor, I would feel ripped off. Like the gullible sucker who thought he was playing it safe by following the ignorant masses. That's what over-priced is, driving down the road realizing that you paid a huge sum of money for last centuries technology, a truck that is just a dolled-up version of a cheap, low-tech truck.

As it is, I'm blown away by the toughness, value, driving dynamics and off-road caqpability Tesla was able to incorporate into one vehicle. It's far better than I ever dreamed a real truck could be. It's really a $150K truck but Tesla doesn't want to relegate it to a low-volume halo product, like the Raptor R. If you haven't lived with one day in and day out, using it for real truck purposes, driven it thousands of miles, then you might not have any idea what I'm talking about.

Cybertruck may have not come with 500 miles of range, or the pull out ramp from the tailgate, or the bullet proof glass. However, it did come out! Keep in mind the Cybertruck has features that were not mentioned to be included like FSD, 48 volt system, 2.6 sec. 0-60, rearwheel steering, locking differential, and a host of other items we don’t know about that can be administered via software updates (eastereggs). It have taken the world by storm. With mostly super satisfied customer base Tesla has over 2 million preorders While there competition is sitting on inventory and struggling to stay afloat. Elon may be late to the party but rest assured he is worth the wait and so has all his products. Don’t bet against a guy that is landing spaceships on a moving barge in the ocean. Teslas technology has been moving exponentially with no competition in sight.

I think price is the big one for many people. I put in my reservation before the presentation was over. I couldn't really afford the 50K AWD but figured I could by the time it came out. Most people can't handle the price hike. Many that can probably shouldn't. Its much easier to buy in on the FUD than buying a 100K+ vehicle. It went from an affordable vehicle to an very expensive vehicle. For many it went from something they could own to something they couldn't. In another 5 years older ones will be affordable but thats a long time to wait when you got hyped in 2019.

Tesla didn't claim the Cybertruck would have bullet-proof glass. That was misinformation propagated by the media. It does have tougher glass than other available trucks which should reduce the likelihood of having to go to the auto glass shop for rock chips and cracks. But it's still susceptible to damage, just tougher.

The noise and misinformation around the Cybertruck, and Tesla's outspoken leader, is deafening and many sheeple can't help but to think much of it is true. But when I watch my Sentry Mode videos of people checking out a Cybertruck for the first time, with a mixture of awe, confusion and delight on their faces, I know that simply looking at one is helping to reverse some of the Reddit misinformation and hate. God help them if they actually had a chance to drive one and live with it for a week or two! Minds would be blown as they realized just how wrong their preconceived notions were.

New
Cybertrucks will be more affordable in a lot less than 5 years.

ICE trucks will still be over-priced because the companies that produce them are inefficient, the only thing that helped obscure that inefficiency was high volume production. As that dwindles, the inefficiency will be even more apparent.

Interesting point! Idid a little research on prototypes vs actual delivered product and this seems to be a consistent case among prototypes. To me prototypes are simply an illustration of the idea rather than the finished product.

I bought mine knowing that what was delivered was not what was delivered, including the inside of the bed which would've been amazing to receive what was being advertised. Nevertheless, none of it was a deal breaker for me.

..would you prefer a Mercedes Maybach where the rear arm rest is $11,000 to replace?..cause they met the luxury aesthetic promised...but at in insane unsustainable cost?...

....you'd not be a happy camper... Sandy Monore - has stated to setup production paint process for an automobile is $800 million [ thats 3/4 of a billon dollars]....the cleaning rag budget for that is likely $500,000 a year...

The CT incorporates elements all vehicles will soon have, drive by wire, the insanely smooth air suspension - which still boggles my mind. The CT rides better than a Mercedes AMG G63 - smooth and stable. The G-wagon tracks very well at 80-mph but has a firm ride : Until the CT I thought the G-wagon has the best ride of a 'performance' SUV.

I am surprised how little or no compromise on my part I have about the Cybertruck. I am driving the poo out of it...a will happy get another when it wears out.

I do wish the range was better - very much like a G-wagon you can barely get 300 miles out of the 'tank'.

Very nice! I always wanted to hear G-Wagon’s owner’s perspective on CT. G-Wagon is one of the best luxury vehicles that drives really well. I’m glad you like CT. Is your experience with CT or Beast? I’m curious to hear your thoughts on how Beast stacks against G-Wagon in terms of suspension, road noise, and cornering.

I was always skeptical of the funtionality of the metal bed. Even with the rubber strips it look like it would be too slippery and get beat up easily. The new composite bed is tougher, lighter and the combination of traction for boots and cargo, and ability to still slide things in/out without too much difficulty, is the best I've ever seen, bar none.

Put things in perspective. The S&P500 is a good proxy for the state of our economy. It went up twice as much as the original cost estimate of the Cybertruck over the same period. The leftover profit was almost a shock to me when I cashed out the money I had saved for my AWD in an index fund.

I have the AWD Cybertruck - I do not have the Beast. [IMO after 600hp if you don't have the barking Mercedes AMG exhaust noise - then why bother...]

CT compared to G-wagon AMG G63.
Ride comfort : CT wins smooth
Cornering : G-Wagon - it has much wider tires and road contact. The CT tires squeal in parking lot maneuvers.
Brakes: G-Wagon AMG All wheel discs are the 'Hand of God Brakes' coming down from above and stopping you... the CT brakes are not very good at all - I am planning to update them. CT brakes outside of regeneration braking are quite shockingly poor.
Passenger Room : Cybertruck wins - the G-Wagon interior space is quite cramped and actually impactable with regards to the rear seats : you CANNOT fit a rear facing baby seat in the G-wagon behind the driver. If you flip down the rear G-wagon seats for cargo - the front seats move forward and your knees are crushed against the dashboard. A +6ft tall man could NOT sit in the front of the G-wagon with the rear seats folded down for cargo. I am very disappointed with the new version of the G-wagon...whoever did the redesign - did NOT actually own and drive one everyday. It could have used about 6" for lengthening to make the rear space more comfortable.

CT Wants: Distance parking sensors. Power connection in the Frunk, Display rear view mirror

Have you heard of these things called 'lists' and 'paragraph breaks'?

While the current design doesn't need the sharp edge at the top of the window, as they're not using folded hardened steel there - the hardened steel exo panels still have limited curve allowed to them, so the sides would be the same contour.

Nothing else structural changed from the original design, as the aluminum was always going to be a large casting underneath to attach the motors to the steel. Even the safety capsule at the prototype staged was shown as stamped steel behind the hardened exo steel.

Cybertruck may have not come with 500 miles of range, or the pull out ramp from the tailgate, or the bullet proof glass.
There was never 'bullet proof glass'. As far as I know, the Cybertruck came with the glass shown in 2019.

The 500 mile range was a specific model which hasn't come out yet (and seems to have two major compromises not listed reveal night) but also - it was never promised as the first model.

The ramp is missed, definitely, hopefully someone will make a replacement. Maybe a powered gate to make up for the weight? Who knows?
