Requested a quote from Line-X. One dealer said it wont adhere to plastic, the other is checking...

So if anyone has done any of the exterior plastics please let me know and if your shop had any challenges / issues / secret sauce!

Did it myself, not adhering to plastics is a very funny joke. Most paint basis adhere to plastic extremely well. I didn't use line-x but the Rust-Oleum bed liner.
More here:

Edit: just realized you were on that thread, so I'm not sure what you're asking since you already knew all this. Yes, the right bedliner is just fine on plastics.
yes I was, question was specific to Line-X, I've had multiple trucks with the bed's lineX'd and very happy with their product durability and longevity....althought your solution might be a good plan b if / as needed

Oh, my bad. Yeah line-x is a whole lot tougher than the Rust-Oleum.

Someone on here had the vault done. It looked good. They removed the whole bed and pre treated it as they said the line x would not adhere properly otherwise.

I'm the person that had LineX coat my entire bed. They too were hesitant do the entire exterior plastic, because its very "slick".

I had them do the plastic on the top of the lid as a test. So far it's holding up great in the Arizona sun and not showing any signs of peeling. The shop did "prep" the surface. I believe all they did was just lightly sanded the surface.

If you are in Arizona. The LineX dealer here does a great job and they have done a few more Cybertrucks. Maybe have your dealer contact the owner here for more detail.

Good luck.

awesome....Sanding makes sense

assuming there's more than on AZ Line-X dealer, do you have a city location or street - so they can call the right one?

Yes, contact LINE-X of West Phoenix 602-909-6755 ask for Rob, he’s the owner. Great family run business. They should remember me. I gave the whole family and kids a Cyber-Ride to remember. :)
