Amen. All these comparison stuff is silly.None of that matters. You buy what you like. It doesnt matter what anyone thinks about it.
I agree with a lot of what you have to say. As an owner of both, the Lightning is a more comfortable ride and it is quieter. Also it is faster than the AWD CT, so if you want performance you go Beast > Lightning > AWD.I own both and love both of them, but like the previous poster said, the innovations brought by CT have spoiled me. I only paid $49,000 for the Lighting so it is easy to justify the ownership of it. There is NO WAY that I would own a Lightning if the price is over $60K, as the CT is just so much better in almost every aspect. I would sum up the pros for each as follows: CT; Easier to drive and more comfortable. Better performance. Better hauling capability with the vault. Tesla software. Faster DC fast charging. F150; Smooth and very quiet ride. More interior space and seating in rear. Better service experience at local dealer.
Additionally, I am able to charge the F150 at more locations due to CCS and NACS (with adapter). Right now I am only able to charge the CT at Tesla superchargers. I really want a CCS adapter for the CT.
It's useful to those who are choosing and pricing out what they can buy and what will work for them.Amen. All these comparison stuff is silly.
No, the F-150 Lightning is not faster than the Dual Motor, it's slower. Not only in top speed, but also in practical situations, like on a rugged twisty road, or around corners on urban streets. If it has a tiny edge on a prepped dragstrip 0-60, who cares?I agree with a lot of what you have to say. As an owner of both, the Lightning is a more comfortable ride and it is quieter. Also it is faster than the AWD CT, so if you want performance you go Beast > Lightning > AWD.
The price of your F-150 is artificial, and never to be repeated again. Ford was giving them away in small volumes, they lost billions of dollars doing that, it is completely unsustainable.I paid $49k for my Lightning after incentives in 2022. For the price, it's the best value of any vehicle I ever owned.
That's a ridiculous statement unless you just need to get from A to B on smoothly paved roads, at the lowest possible cost. If you care about handling, occupant safety, emergency avoidance ability, vehicle longevity, keeping your cargo safe and dry, ease of maneuvering in congested areas, ride comfort and safety on bad roads, cargo capacity, ease of loading/unloading, and a whole host of less tangible things like resistance to damage, stereo presence and sound quality and software interface and features and useability, then the F-150 Lightning fails miserably compared to the Dual Motor Cybertruck. It is no contest.I'm still not sold on AWD CT, the value just isn't there compared to a Lightning, I certainly wouldn't have purchased an AWD CT.
I love this chart. Thank you for sharing. Question.. If it is an EV truck comparison chart, why is the Raptor on there? Here’s a chart comparing all the specs of the Cybertruck against the Lightning (and a bunch of other EV trucks) that others might find useful.![]()
I would love to know someone debating between a lightning/Raptor or a cyber truck. I don’t really think it’s the same as if you’re between a Chevy truck and a ford truck. The looks are completly different Possibly the Rivian would be a comparison for the technology aspect? But with the “comparison” videos I’ve seen what really are we talking about here? What trunk opens faster? What blinker goes faster ? One goes 135 the other only goes 133? One towed 1000001 pounds the other only 1000000? None of this stuff matters to the 90% of us that don’t go 135 miles per hour or tow 1000000 lbs. I can wait 2It's useful to those who are choosing and pricing out what they can buy and what will work for them.

I agree with nearly everything here, great write up.I have owned both the Lightning and the CT. I find myself missing my Lightning now and then. It was slightly more comfortable spacious inside. I switched to the CT for a few simple reasons.
That said I feel the Lightning offers way more value for the money and I miss a lot of its practical features that the CT lacks. If I could merge both into 1 truck I would be so happy.
- Adjustable ride height
- Sentry mode, 360° dash cam
- Ding/dent resistant panels
- Supercharger access(this one has been nullified since)
- I didn't want to lose my spot after 4 years of waiting
- It just looked cool.
Features I miss:
TLDR; I love my CT, but its not perfect. If you are looking to save money go with the Lightning, its a really great practical vehicle. If you are looking for the most fun and neatest toy on the planet, get the CT.
- Opening sunroof
- Opening rear window
- Better visibility
- Collapsible/lockable rear seat storage
- HUGE frunk with outlets
- Step to get into the bed
- More cupholders
- Instrument panel.
- Stalks and buttons.
Why don’t you go buy an adaptor then ? Looks like they are on Amazon for $250? Where do you live? I have 3 Tesla supercharger charging stations with in 5 miles here in Los Angeles. I’ve driven to Santa Cruz San Diego Palm Springs and Las Vegas and not once have had any issues finding super charging stations so I find that part to be a mute point but maybe you live in a less accessible area?I own both and love both of them, but like the previous poster said, the innovations brought by CT have spoiled me.
