Hi all - I am waiting to pick up my cyber truck, order placed today. I have 2 80 pound shepherds and am wondering what people have been doing to carry their dogs in the truck? I know you can fold the back seats up and have them in the back with a backseat protector, but their fur gets everywhere though the benefit is climate control/dog mode. I also know that they can be placed in the bed in crates or with a leash secured to the truck, but this is an issue in hot weather and keeping them in the truck when I have to run a quick errand (versus inside with dog mode). Just wondering if anyone has figured out a good solution or a clever way to bring the dogs with you wherever you go in the truck! Thanks.

Get this and only this. It covers EVERYTHING and your dogs can still see you through the mesh between the seats. Folded up it fits perfectly in the frunk.

No, I don’t work for the company that makes these. It’s just an awesome product.

You are trying to solve a non-problem. The backseat area with the seats folded up is absolutely huge, even for two dogs a lot bigger than yours. If the hair bothers you, maybe you should reconsider dog ownership!

Thanks - ya I don't have a problem with the dog hair as I currently drive them around in my model 3 everywhere I go and have a backseat protector, but

hair doesn't bother me (I take them everywhere with me in my model 3 in the back seats) but it does get everywhere so I am more so wondering if there's a clever option to keep them in the bed and having the passenger compartment open when needed while making it comfortable for them in the bed. Obviously I would put them in the cab/inside for dog mode when needed.

I got this one and I don’t like it for two reasons. 1. It’s hard on the bottom and the dogs lose the benefit of having a cushioned backseat there’s no padding so it’s literally like they’re sitting/laying on a very thinly covered board. 2. The board actually sticks out past the seat making it hard to get anything that you have stored on the floor in the back out.

I like the way it folds up and protects the doors as well, I just have a couple of minor gripes as outlined above. As a result, I bought the Tesla one and it came a day or so ago I’ve not had an opportunity to try it out yet. But I have the Tesla one for my wife’s and my model S Plaid and I like it quite a bit.

Beyond that, though I love shepherds, I have two standard poodles because they don’t shed and are at least as smart. Shepherds are definitely my favorite breed, but between the hip dysplasia and the shedding I’ll take a poodle every day and twice on Sunday instead.

As far as the idea of “letting them go with me” just like my FJ the CyberBeast is their car.

I have a seat hammock (seats stay in the usual position), and my 80lb GSD loves to be in there. There's room for two GSDs, I think - they'd just need to be friends. Note that there is a metal loop behind the rear center seat headrest, and I clip a 3 foot lead from there to my dog's harness. That's enough to let her arrange herself comfortably, and reach both windows. I put one of her mattress pads in there so she's got some padding.

Dog mode is a game changer, for sure!

And the way I deal with the fur is I open all the doors and hit the inside with a leaf blower. I'm not kidding. The Alcantara doesn't catch the fur the way my other cars have, so most of it actually leaves the truck.

Oh, we like the hard bottom on it. The dog beds fit in perfectly. We’ve never brought enough stuff on our trips to need the space under the seat. The frunk has worked for us.

Not cool man, be respectful. Dogs drool, scratch, bite, shed.. not things you want happening in the back of your $100,000 vehicle.

I disagree,

I ordered this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C872JVDW

It allows for you to fold up all of the back seats and increase the space your dog(s) has. I use it to transport my Bernese Mountain Dog.

Any chance you'd be willing to take a picture of this cover installed in the back with the seats folded up? I'm curious how the cover fits the overall rear area.

Still looking for a liner for fold up seats that will keep my dog in the back seat area. I REALLY need one.

I ordered one of those and the first time I used it my dog jumped over the mesh into the front seat. He was only 5 months old and less than 40 pounds at the time. The only way that liner would work is if the dog is already trained to stay in the back. In that case the liner is a good option (not perfect because it isn’t designed for the Cybertruck).
