Went to Otter Lake PA for a 5 day camping trip towing my 17' Casita Freedom Deluxe which weighs about 3200 lbs.
Towing was about 280 miles out of the total of 438 in the pics.
I am very happy and very impressed with that distance.

Went 102 miles on less than 50% of the battery. Woo. Hoo.

Thanks for sharing the positive towing results! Any trip photos of CT + RV?

Thanks for sharing. Just curious if you ran the recommended 65 psi in your tires while towing?

not with this trailer since it is very light, I had them set at 55. I also tow an 8000lbs trailer and i increase the pressure to 60. It felt very squirrely.

It's ok, you can use the karma points from the model Y jerk I saw using the only pull through spot in Inyo-kern last week (no, he didn't have a trailer and everything else was empty).

In Australia, Telsa charging stations are approx 150-200km apart... this gap seems to be the rollout gap across the national highway. I guess one day once the highways are connected they will infill to 100km gaps etc.

Your range is great, but I could not hop across 2 charging stations without risk,, I would still need to charge at every opportunity. A pain if travelling 1000's of km regularly.

Down under, imo we are still at least 2+ years from comfortable towing, more range in the CT would be handy, we need most charging stations 50-80km apart.

Curious if regen braking works well when towing or do you need to combine with pedal brakes when going down a mountain, or freeway exuts, etc.? Nice post:)

Lucky for you.

This is mine on 4,200 lbs RV.

100% when left home.

And got scared shitless I might run out of juice before reaching my campsite less than 100 miles away.

yes it worked great but I also account for the trailer so I leave more space so I don't have to use the brakes. I did, a few times, mostly when going down a hill and coming to a light or stop sign. And there were plenty of all three, lights, stop signs and hills!

I was also only going 30-45 for 15 miles and then 55-65 mph for the rest of the trip depending on traffic and road conditions... NJ and NY are not known for their smooth roads.

Very cool. I was getting about the same with my 3600lb airstream on a trip through Oregon down the coast and back home in Bay Area California. A lot of mixed driving, mountains, flat lands, windy coast. Max miles at 100% charge I was getting 180 but only drove about 150 miles to each charge station which Oregon and California have a lot of so no worries there. Want to do more and more this truck tows easily.

So is this showing the drive time (~45Mph for 102 @ 2:24) or does that include the charging stop(s)?
