Yes, in Los gatos near San Jose.

Best pic I have is above. No way to photograph epoxy. But there is a clear bond between the black piece and white piece.
Hmph, well if you can get to the bolt then that’s the most important. Is there enough room to reach it, without removing the remainder of the trim?
(Cool you’re like 20 mins away)

Not without damaging the black trim piece. I ramped to the max force I was willing to apply. Beyond that damage will happen.

In the video, it's clear the person can wedge his fingers between the white trim and black trim. Mine seems welded.

Yea I was nearly convinced mine was also welded, couldn’t get a finger in there like their instructional video. Do you have a spudger like tool you can carefully pry in there? (Or a soft rounded butter knife if you’re in a pinch ?)

That's helpful feedback. I'll Spudge it and see if it splits.

Will the magnetic hold with a slim otter box phone case? Afraid of the extra weight and case in between the connection.

One way to find out!
I'm using a MagSafe compatible case myself, but Tsportline also give you a magnetic ring you could clap onto your phone if needed (not sure if youre also trying to charge wirelessly though; thickness could interfere with that)

I'll save you all some install time and tell you you'll need a 13mm socket. A standard socket is too short. A deep socket is too long. I ended up using a 3/4 drive ratchet with a 3/8-to-1/4 adapter and then a standard 13mm socket....perfect length. :)

I was intrigue with the dual mode OBDII step down power cable that is included in the TSportline MagSafe kit. It has two modes: ACC and Surveillance. Supposedly, ACC Mode (position 0) powers the charger on when the truck is "started", and off when it's turned "off" in order to save battery. Surveillance mode (postition 1) provides continuous power to the charger, or other USB device, e.g., a dash cam or surveillance camera.

I was intending to use one of these ACC step down OBD power cables to automatically turn on my aftermarket side view cameras when driving and have them automatically turn off when not driving.

As far as I can tell, these OBD 5Vdc power cables won't work on the Cybertruck, nor any EV, only cars with alternators. I was hoping the one that TSportline includes in their MagSafe kit would do the ACC function since they were installing it on a Cybertruck and specifically talking about this behavior.

So, I tested the OBDII port on the Cybertruck. Tesla's OBDII port does not maintain 12Vdc on pin 16 per spec. When the truck goes to sleep, power is lost. When the truck wakes up power is restored.

I measured the output voltage on pin 16 at 15.6Vdc whether the truck is parked or being driven. There is no way the ACC mode can detect which state the truck is in.

I asked TSportline about this, but the person responding couldn't give me an answer.

If Sentry Mode is off (like at home), OBD power will shut off 5 minutes after leaving the vehicle. Open the door and the power comes back on.

This not what I was hoping for. I'll have to include a manual switch on the step down power cable to shut off power to the cameras when Sentry Mode is on or suffer even greater battery drain while parked. This power cable will serve the purpose.

At least I won't use up one of my USB-C ports.

Now the question is where should I mount that switch? I'm thinking out of sight under the steering wheel column.

If I'm missing something here, please clue me in. Thanks.

Well that explains why I only get power when the switch is in the off position. ?

In-stock and shipping.

Couple things to point out on our kit -

The bracket is steel, not plastic and not 3d printed. It will not 'jiggle' over bumps like plastic, and never a risk to crack or otherwise compromise over time like plastic does.

Our kit does not block the HVAC at all.

Install time, really depends on your handiness - some folks are super quick, others take a little more time. Either way is fine, work at a pace that you're comfortable with! If you have any install questions, feel free to PM me for help!

I can confirm this message...

Install took maybe 20 minutes, but half of that was making trips back and forth to the garage to find a ratchet/socket/extension combination that would work.

IMPORTANT: Watch the videos so you fully understand how the small dash corner trim comes on and off. You'll likely spend a minute locating one or more of the tiny white clip pieces that fall off the corner trim when you pull it out.

AC is not blocked at all.

No wobble or vibrations.

The phone does not cover the red LED indicator in the speaker that indicates a vehicle is next to you, as long as your phone is in the portrait orientation. In landscape orientation it will be covered.

It's a great, quality kit.

Not sponsored. No regrets. Just get it already. :D

I just installed mine today. Took about 10 minutes and I too was also stuck with that first plastic piece. Yes pull hard enough on the 2 right places and I was able to take it off.
It looks great and right where I want it.
