Most of the stories so far are that Teslas do much better than EVs.I'm up by AL but hurrevacs are one of my worries while I wait for my RN to come up. How did you manage with a tesla in worst case crazy hurrevac traffic?
Two main reasons:
- EVs love stop and go traffic. No engine overheating, no need to run engine to power AC
- Superchargers don't run out of power (as gas stations run out of gas) and there are less vehicles using the Superchargers than gas stations.
Other than that, 200+ miles range can get you a long way out of the impacted zone.
And one of my evacs, I chose early, albeit only a few hours before the crowd, but as we headed north, we were going about 55 mph (slow for I-75). But I could hear the radio stations less than an hour behind me and they were going 35 mph and slowing quickly.
