Lance was waiting on the lawyer to file them for quite a while. He told me they were filed last week and now he can start showing more and more of the CL. I’ll be calling him next week to get more updates.

The latest snag was that they lost the testing site they were using. When I talked to him a couple weeks ago he was looking for a new place. Hopefully he finds something quick to resume testing.

That's literally the coolest thing ever, and tbh, cheaper than I expected. But, it's seems near-impossible to build, and some features are literally too good to be true. Also, it uses the 2019 CT model, which is a little sus. Are you sure that's not a scam?

At first they were using a 2019 model. However, in October they were able to get the exact measurements and starting engineering based on those numbers. In July, somebody gave their Cybertruck to the company so it can be used for testing. Since then they have received their own and also have a few more CT on order. We should be seeing a working prototype within the next few months. Fingers crossed

CyberLandr is back with an “update”…but really it’s more of a survey asking customers if they are willing to buy higher price models. And a new promise of a sneak peek (but only for some customers) instead of the full reveal they promised previously.

Of course the update is on substack because…uh, why? I have no freaking idea. It’s honestly a red flag that a company focused on Tesla has some kind of viewpoint that prevents them from using X to post these long-form updates, host surveys, and get paid. But bottom line it’s idiotic not to be on X *or* here on this forum to speak to the community they want to serve one day.

Sigh, I want to believe but I don’t think they can build this product. Anyway here’s the message.

As humans, we yearn to learn, explore, and have adventures. When we go too long without these, life grows boring and we begin to lose our child-like fascination with the world around us. CyberLandr was born to make it easier to fulfill those deep human desires and reignite that zest for life.

The reason I refer to you as Adventurers and Explorers is because as we have learned more about how you intend to use CyberLandr we found that most people fall into one of these two groups:

Adventurers are people who want to use CyberLandr in their day-to-day activities with occasional camping and travel. This typically includes people who want to use CyberLandr to take a shower after surfing/bike riding/running and before going out to dinner, soccer moms, traveling salespeople, construction workers who want access to a bathroom and a refrigerator on their job sites, mobile command posts for fire fighters, etc.

Explorers are those who plan to go on longer and/or more extreme adventures. For example 3+ days off-roading, camping in more extreme conditions (hot or cold), staying off-grid for days/weeks/months at a time.

While a standard CyberLandr can meet both these needs very well, Explorers would benefit more from lighter weight, better insulation, a larger battery pack, and more solar panels—but this would also make this model more expensive to build. Consequently, we need you to tell us which model you would be most interested in, so please complete the survey below as soon as possible.

What’s better than a Range Extender? An Adventure Extender!

As you are probably aware, Tesla recently cancelled the range extender for Cybertruck.


We are glad to see it go as (in our opinion) it was the worst product Tesla has ever announced since it took up much of the bed space and would make Cybertruck far less useful as a truck. However, we are also keenly aware of the desire to have more range and/or more battery so you can stay off-grid longer.

Our solution, unlike Tesla’s cancelled solution, doesn’t interfere with using your truck as a truck and is fully compatible with CyberLandr. Our electrical engineer leading the development of this product played key roles in the engineering of the Rivian R1T and also Ford’s electric vehicles.

What really sets our Adventure Xtender™ apart from Tesla’s Range Extender is that it adds an additional 1,500 Watts of solar to CyberLandr bringing the combined total to 2,000 Watts. Based on the common assumption of 5 hours per day of usable sun across the year, you could add 10 kWh per day to our 30 kWh battery so you could potentially stay off-grid indefinitely in temperate conditions—or at least much longer in more extreme conditions. So unlike the Tesla Range Extender that when the 50 kWh is gone you would need to find a charging station, the CyberLandr Adventure Extender can partially recharge itself every day using the sun, so the initial 30 kWh could become 100 kWh over a week off-grid—which means you may actually have more energy when you leave a camp then when you arrived. One thing to note: unless or until Tesla provides us with access to Cybertruck’s high voltage buss the only way to get power from our battery to the Cybertruck will be via the Mobile Charge Connector. In this way, our Adventure Xtender acts very much like a spare “gas can” that can provide up to 60 miles of additional range at 70 mph, or over 100 miles of range at 35 mph.

CyberLandr X (X is for eXplorer, adventure eXtender, and eXtreme): Includes super insulation with more than twice the efficiency of the standard insulation (up to R13, the same as most home walls), uses carbon fiber instead of glass fiber in the exterior composite structure to reduce weight. Price: $5,000 above the standard CyberLandr.
