What’s the deal with soft close tailgate not working on any Cybertruck

My cyberbeast soft close tailgate has never worked ( delivered 9/7/24) like the original demos where it latches and then draws it into its final position with motors. Today I checked the same demo today and it was seemingly disabled. I went through several other customer delivery trucks and none worked correctly now. Is it a software lockout? WTAF is going on?

I picked it up from service today and they said it’s working correctly. It’s definitely working like every other truck I checked today.

I think you might be just a little bit too heavy-handed. I’ve on occasion thought the same thing that it wasn’t working to close it and make sure that it’s actually working what you need to do is to lift the tailgate up to the closing position and without forcing let it grab and pull it closed it’s a weird implementation But I think you’ll see that it does work just not maybe how you would expect

Omg you’re right it actually worked for the first time!
In my defense I was doing all this checking today with the cybertruck delivery kid who agreed with me that it wasn’t working in the same way.

There’s absolutely no particular reason why I would know this. Lucky guess, I suppose! ?

There was a noticeable difference between examples (9) on site today including mine of how flush the closed position of the back of the tailgate is with the rest of the back end.

Most of the ones I looked at including mine sit proud. That’s one of the reasons I figured it wasn’t drawing itself in on a soft close.

Mine started doing the same thing. After 4 months of working it stopped working yesterday. I will try a reset and see if it works. My SC is 4.5 hours away so i will try and fix it. I dread that drive.

Have them send Service person to you.

It works great on my AWD. Always has. Need to be about an inch from closed.
