Why the f* do we not have a good CCS answer yet? Curious if someone knows the details. Specifically:

- Why has Tesla not provided a CCS adapter after almost a year (when they've already got one (see the next question))?
- Why don't they just provide an extension, adapter, or tweak the one they've already got? Or offer a stupid expensive retrofit that tweaks the CT charging port cover to make it fit?
- Why do ALL of the reported aftermarket adapters seem to disappear as soon as people realize they work with CT? Is there some legal stuff going on in the background? It's an odd coincidence that at least 3 different adapters in this forum that have reported success are all unavailable today.
- Why haven't they enabled CHAdeMO? Yeah, I know it lost the CCS war, but it's enabled in every single other Tesla, and the adapter fits. If Tesla still has a goal of EV adoption, they need to enable everything they can to make sure I can charge wherever I can get Volts and Amps.

Would really appreciate anyone with knowledge on the topic, either from Tesla or with some other credibility. I know Tesla wants everyone to NACS, and I know for 95% of driving the "masses" don't need it. But Tesla doesn't cater to the "masses". They cater to adoption. And I drive through eastern OK a lot, so until they actually send some stuff to McAlester and complete a 6 year old task, I'm stuck going quite a bit out of my way every time.

Indeed, "or soon". This isn't my first Tesla lol; "or soon" means probably before I sell the truck after 5-10 years. I'm sure they'll make one; but my question was why they didn't do it sometime during the last 5 years of development? And why hasn't it been done in the last 9 months of deliveries?

I know it takes [some] time, and I know complaining won't help. I'm just morbidly curious... my brain really wants to know how this wasn't already done?

Because Tesla thinks people will use Tesla SCs and more companies are starting to offer NACS on their third-party chargers. I doubt Tesla will develop this for the CT.

Not downplaying your qualms, but it seems that's Tesla's mindset. They try to cater to the biggest audience or platform i.e. M3/Y more than anyone else.

It took years for a CCS to come for the SEXY lineup and they had it overseas. People were ordering them from Korea.

I have posted this multiple times in other threads... use the search button...

https://a2zevshop.com/collections/charging-adapters/products/ccs-thunderstorm-max

Its a CCS1 to NACS for CyberTruck. It is to be UL approved, etc. Mine is shipping in 3 days.

$175.00 and use the "FORD" promo code for 10% off.

You dont want Chademo. Its ass and on its way out. Most chargers that have Chademo have CCS attached to it. Don't waste your time with it.

That one -has- been preorder, see my above comments. Looks like it's actually shipping soon, so I may consider doing that.

Nobody wants CHAdeMO. Nobody wants CCS either. We want superchargers everywhere, but that's not always an option yet ;). I like to be prepared... when I show my truck at shows/events, I usually tell people "If I can get electricity, I can charge". With the CT, so far, that's been a lie. I'll wait until some reviews come in for the A2Z one and may consider it.

Because NACS won.

ChADeMo? It's long been dead in N. America. I'm not sure it was ever born.

CCS, a dying standard.

NACS? An American success story. Fighting against powerful and monied forces, NACS just mowed CCS down due to sheer numbers, reliability and inherent superiority. It was a decade long bloodbath.

Because Tesla kept in-house control of the design, manufacturing, installation and operation, anti-EV forces couldn't neutralize it.
