Make it $69k AWD, then knock off another $10k for Musk being an asshole reverse fee and we'll talk.
You speak as if Elon is desperate on his knees to sell you this truck  He'll reduce the prices at some point and when he does, you'll probably be one of many, desperately waiting to buy one.

My DM was delivered in the last week of May. I had two reservations, the second made about 10-12 months later. I thought I would be able to buy that one 2 or 3 years later. But I got an invite for my second reservation in Aug or Sept for a FS, and I just got an invite for a Non-FS. While anyone not on the list was able to buy a FS recently, I don't think anyone not on the list can buy a Non-FS right now, so the list may not be exhausted.

" I think it’s a combination of the still premium $80k MSRP, buyers waiting for a 2025 model and a wait and see attitude regarding a future $7500 federal tax credit. "

This is me exactly. I got got my email last week but I'm waiting to see if the $7500 will be available and "hoping" for a better financing offer!

Me desperate? No, I'm on the waiting list.

Him desperate, well eating through 1.5M reservation holders in 9 days, he might be soon.

Good for me.

Yes... He's desperate to sell it to customers who are interested in the truck/brand but definitely not to someone who curses him for his personal beliefs or whatever reason you hate him for!

Non-Foundation CT is still competitively priced compared to others like Rivian and Chevy. As a stock holder, I want more CT's on road. It'll be a win-win situation if Elon can make it affordable to masses which I believe he'll when the time comes!

As I said... YMMV and my comment was IMHO. The greatest thing IMHO that sets Tesla from all other EVs is the FSD and the tech. I have driven in Fords with Bluetooth, Rivians, etc, and none of them come even close to Tesla's tech. For the cost of a CT, you can get a much nicer "car" experience with a Ford Lightening or Rivian R1T. But if you are in it for the amazing tech, Tesla is where its at and smokes them all.

As for financing all the "accessories", isn't that what 99% of the people do when they finance a car? Don't they finance those items as well?
Some of us pay cash.

Knowing his customer base, he would actually.

Tesla's margin is higher than many know. They could afford to reduce prices, which is necessary. Alienating one's customers is not.

? me or Elon ? Ok I always forget how literal you are .. how’s 2019 $5 foot long now being $8 work for ya ? Still inflation.
But that's not what you said:
In 2019 I also paid $5 for a subway sandwich that’s $16 today.
...Which isn't true. Additionally, the $5 price was not the regular price, but a short term promotion, where they'd sell you a large sandwich for the size of the smaller sandwich.

And hey! Here's the promotion today:

Inflation happens you can’t blame him.
Yes, yes I can. Because if the truck had the same inflation as that sandwich, it would still be $10k cheaper than he's selling the truck for today. Worse, he said he'd hit the average truck price: The average truck price is thirty thousand dollars cheaper than he's selling them for.

It's not the only reason why I can't afford it, but it's definitely a major reason they're having trouble getting that list to convert.

But you should compare with prices of other brand vehicles, not poor sandwiches! Who taught you logic?
Ok Rivian RT1 Dual Standard, 72-79k, 270 range
CT AWD - 80k, 340 range
Lighting - 68k and up depending on options (Flash) / 77k and up (Lariat) - both 320 range.

Note: When you click through on Fords site, the base price of the flash goes from 68k to 70k. The tow package takes you to 72,390.
The same goes for the Lariat, which goes to 79,090.

Yes, Ford sells a 50k truck, and I suspect Tesla will get there with the RWD CT.

The problem with comparisons is people quote the lowest price and highest specs.

And it’s not your average Joe who can just walk into their tag office and drop the payment of excise tax of $5,000 just to put a license plate on the vehicle.
The same goes for the Flash, Lariat, Platinum. Yet they still exist.

Omg you did not pull up a limited time coupon and claim that’s the inflation on it is a buck did you ? sometimes I don’t know if I should be annoyed with ya or you crack me up . First

Jesus did you just try to say the 5 dollar footlong wasn’t a regular price for years ? As a retired construction worker and certified welder I’m going to say I’ve hit subway at break 10k times in 20 years ?. It was the price just because “at first for a month “ it was a promo Dosnt mean anything. You pulled up a coupon ? I can’t with you. First off what truck on the Market can be compared to this truck ?? Let me answer NONE!! You want to say the Rivian I know but the truck isn’t $70k as well! Plus comparing the Rivian to a CT is wild to me. Like it isn’t even the same look! Compare a Rivian to a lighting a Chevy Silverado! And you know why he’s 30k over anything ? Because it can’t be compared it’s bad ass and even though you mad you still want it over others because of that !
back to the samich. Inflation on cheese bread and veggies and meat is what 5 things Inflation on thousands of components that make up the truck !
and ps where is everyone getting this 30k make up from what he said ?? Yeah he did say the REAR WHEEL would be like 70k I believe? But it isn’t out !! People thing to say he said the AWD dual motor was going to be 70K are mistaken. The AWD was always going to be 80k from what I ever when I ordered 1 hour after the first 5 were givin out who cares what he said in 2019. Ish changed

Does this math?

If we stick with promises, then technically truck should cost around $65k (before bed liner and electric bed cover or $74.5k depending on your income) after delivery fees. That is assuming the initial $50k stated in 2019.

source: https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl?cost1=50000&year1=201901&year2=202409

Let’s try to further close this gap. Ford F150 Lightning is likely the truck’s closest competitor. (Why: in my opinion, rivian is more Tacoma than Lightning and Silverado WT doesn’t offer the same features.)

Spray in bed liner: $599 (before tax)
Electric tanneu cover: $2,799 (before tax)
https://realtruck.com/p/retrax-powe...Y8hn6mY_V9aqph3bDSDqdP32auyrGuCQaApmqEALw_wcB
Plus Tax and install on the said options: $1,500*
*I think it’s worth including the overhead cost on this because the Cybertruck does come with a liner and an electric cover.
Total: $69,800

However, ford is about $80k (for a comparably equipped Lariat with 131kwh battery pack, but blue cruise is no longer included in sale. I may or may not have almost bought one ?) minus a lot of incentives and credits pits some buyers at $62k plus $5k in the above options; so now we are at like $67k (or 74.5k if you don’t qualify for current EV tax credit). Ford is cheaper in this scenario, was first to market and has more vehicles on the road at the moment. If my math maths, then we’re only about $5.5k apart. It may feasible that cybertruck cost less after 2-3 years on the market.
This is what all the mad people want to leave out. I saw a commercial for some car the other day and said “starts at $30k. I turned to my wife and said yeah but you get down there and they say “well you want seats ! Ok 5 you want a motor ? Another 10k. ? but truth Dosnt fit the narrative
