Living in deep south I would like to have front door glass tinted on my CT. Is there a way to allow door glass fully roll up/out while doors are in open position. Windows drop down when door is opened.

Yes, but you'll break the window if you're not careful. You've been warned!

Just push in the latch on the door while it's open. Release the latch before closing it. I accept no responsibility for you breaking your windows.

Good luck!

I don’t need to close door while window is in its fully extended position, only to allow application of tint. After releasing latch, would I be able to lower window with window control switch before closing door??

IIRC, my tint shop put the CT in Service Mode when they tinted the windows to stop that from happening.

I had all glass tinted (except the roof). 35 Front/70 Rear.

Ive tinted the windows on every vehicle I’ve ever owned and many of them were frameless doors that had windows inch down upon opening of the door including my Tesla Model S of course and this has never been an issue for me with having at least a half dozen cars tinted that perform the similar safety function. I really wouldn’t be worried about it, and if you are, get the windows tinted on a weekend where you can just go home and let the car sit for a day or two.

Or tint one window at a time lol XD

I'm taking delivery in the next 1-2 weeks and am probably going to tint. Would you mind snapping some pics of your CT and posting? I'm trying to get a sense of what the tint shades look like installed.

If you close the doors on accident while the window is fully up, it will break the front windows.

You just hit the latch release button since the door thinks it's closed to lower the window again.

I tinted with Xpel Prime Plus:

- 70% on the windshield and all rear glass for heat rejection (didn’t want them darker)
- 35% on the front windows/triangles
