I love the look of the Cyberwheels, but I don’t think it’s worth the $3,500.

I think I’ll stick with the core wheels and then eventually buy the snow tire package for $3,000 then find some used Cyberwheels covers and I should be right around $3,500 and have two sets of wheels and tires.

Thoughts?

Check Craigslist. I went with Core wheels cause I’m finding AT tire/wheels new take-offs for <$2k.

If you want new wheels, you don't need Cybertruck specific ones. I'm planning on eventually getting a set of methods, but I'm in no rush.

As for tires, I've been burned by used ones, you never know how old they are even if they have tread left. So I go with discount/America's tire for their warranties. First set is full price, but after that most sets are discounted because either the tire got a puncture or got worn out faster than guaranteed.

I have the Cyberwheels. It came with my foundation CB. Now, once it wears down I’m planning on getting AS tires. Mainly because I will probably never take it off-road and I’m assuming that would be the case for most. Maybe a dirt road, but that would be the extend of it. I do like the look of the cyberwheels though. Question and I have put it out once before. Does the Cybertruck know automatically that I switch tires?

Have we confirmed that they are not limiting any software here with the wheels, e.g. if you get Core wheels, you still have all the same off-road software? Assuming so.

IMO, the software will not change. It will remain the same. It will be at the discretion of the driver to make the judgement To bring the CT off-road with AS tires. A good example. From my understanding, all Jeeps have the capabilities to go off-road, but are they ready no. Also, most people know when you go off-road you will need to deflate the tires for better grib. The CT won’t tell you that nor would it do it automatically.

The only indication is if you do replace them with the the tpms (you will get an alert but ignore it). Otherwise the truck doesn’t care.

Hmmm… In that case, how does it know to change the mileage since AS supposedly goes further then the cyberwheels.

It is all based on miles per kilowatts per hr expended….. not speed sensors.

I agree and you’re not wrong, but when I charge my CB to 100% it gives me a reading of 302 miles. Isn’t that suppose to change to 320 miles? It’s not like other EV from Europe where they base their miles on the way you drive.

From what I understand, the calculation is real world based on past kwh consumption, battery degradation, ambient temperature, elevation, etc. So it will almost always be lower than the stated max range at delivery.

The 302 is a hypothical measure based on the software installed at the time truck was manufactured. As the truck is driven those miles should adjust to the type of resistance the tires cause. It would be interesting if someone could conduct a test of comparison to determine if in fact the mileage adjusts. The FS BEAST with core tires will probably show 318 with software prepped for that purpose.

Unless Tesla have changed your mileage calculations that’s not that case. This is my fifth Tesla and every Tesla are the same.
